  1. I am attempting to locate a baptism/marriage/death record for a Berit Andersdatter from Selbu parish in Sør-Trøndelag county. The online Selbu Bygdebok is silent on any vital information about her. She did marry Ivar Evensen Garberg (1717 - 1753) in 1737. They had 3 children Even 1737, Gjertrud 1739, and Anders 1741. Then she is not mentioned again. The Bygdebok includes a farm name for her - Langli - but no record of her is in that farm. Her spouse Ivar went on to re-marry in 1746. Below is the entry from the Selbu Bygdebok. Can anyone help me locate a baptism/marriage or death record for Berit? http://selbuboka.no/wordpress/?page_id=2279
  2. I am trying to locate several documents in the church books on digital archive for my Norwegian ancestor: Ole Johanssen Haarstad and Gjertrud Sivertsdatter. More specifically, Gjertrud Sivertsdatter. I cannot seem to locate a birth/christening/confirmation record for Gjertrud Sivertsdatter. I cannot seem to locate Gjertrud Sivertsdatter wedding record either. Can you help me locate one or both of these records in your archives? I cannot read Norwegian, so I am guessing that there are a bunch of clues to where these records may be that I am missing. I saw in the 1865 census that Gjertrud was born in Selbu parish, but I cannot find her birth record. I assume also that since their first child was born in Selbu that they were married in Selbu, but I cannot find their marriage record. I am hoping to locate one of these records so that I can find out the names of Gjertrud’s parents and grandparents. Ole was born in Selbu, Sor-Trondelag: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/16312/83 Gjertrud was born in: ???? They were Married: ???? Their children were all born in Selbu: 1. 3. Hi all, I need some help in translating a marriage record of my gg grandfather and grandmother and my gg grandfather's birth record. Ole Johnsen's name and title/occupation on the birth record I think is ungkarl. But the next word (?agan) has me stumped. He lived on the Ingebrigtsaunet farm and his wife Beret lived on the Vigdenes farm I believe. The next column is, I think, the place where they were both born, but I'm unable to translate the remarks there at all. The witnesses as far a I can tell were Ole Persen of Vigdenes and Guttorm Johnsen of Kringen. If someone could give me a hand in understanding the marriage record I would greatly appreciate it. Also, on Ole Johnsen's birth record, it gives his father's name and residence. His father's name is John Olsen, but I can't quite make out the next two words or places. If someone could help with the names and places of the witnesses to Ole's baptism, that would be great. Thank you very much for any help that can be offered. Ha det bra. Jay Hagfeldt
