Looking for info about the Per Lo family which emigrated to Minneapolis, Minnesota from Steinkjer, Norway before 1860. The actual date is unknown, best guess is about 1850. Louise Lo and Hilmer Lo emigrated with their father Per Lo. Louise Lo was born in Steinkjer, Norway about 1843. Thanks in advance for your help.--- Rick

Some input about the name 'Lo'.Just south of Steinkjer, there is a farm which nowadays are called 'Lø'. The farm can be found under the parish Sparbu, if you do a search in the census from Digitalarkivet.Census-1801 for Sparboe, Nord-Trøndelag county: Løed, Løed Under/Over.Census-1865 for Sparbo, Nord-Trøndelag county: Løe.Census-1865 for Sparbuen, Nord-Trøndelag county: Lø nedre/øvre.Jan

De kan også ha kommet fra gården Laug i Beitstad. Denne gården kalles Lo både på dagens kart og i omtale av personer på 1800-tallet. I FT 1801 og 1865 er den skrevet Laug.
