Noen som kjenner til Karoline Elisabet Nilsdotter Friis. Hun er født 1768 i Danmark, dødt 1847 Hafstad, Førde i Sogn.Hun skal visstnok være en datter av en salmaker i København. Hun kom til Førde med hushaldet til futen Lambrechts på Bruland.

I'm sorry I don't read Norwegian, but if someone could tranlate this posting I would appreciate it very much. Karolina is my fourth great grandmother about whom I have been seeking information.Anita, how are you connected to Karolina? I posted an inquiry about Karolina on this forum several months ago and someone suggested the Friis part of her name indicated she may be from Denmark and another person thought possibly from Germany. There was not enough information to do any searching for her, but from what I think I can make out of your posting it looks like she was from Copenhagen. I am anxious to know what else this posting says and how much more you might know about her or her family.

Anyone there who knows about KENF. She was born in Denmark in 1768, died in Hafstad, Førde in Sogn in 1847.She's supposed to be the daughter of a saddle maker in Copenhagen. She came to Førde with the deputy (commissioner) Lambrechts from Bruland's household.You'll see in post 11474 that there's another person here also looking for the same woman.Good luck!Kjellaug R.P.

I don't mean to take over this thread and I hope someone else will have additional data for Anita (that I can piggy back on), but I am so pleased to get this information that may allow me to begin to research Karoline in Denmark.
