Hi Andrew,Have you seen his death certificate? It should give information on his parents (if the informant did know). An obituary might include information on living relatives in Norway.(At that time) His naturalization papers could also have som information. If you haven't already, you should obtain these papers. There is number of possible Andrew Peterson's in Norway, born about that time. A little more to go on could give a direction.Kind regards, Heidi

Heidi, thanks for replying. Lets see, his sister was Lena Bredeson (after marriage) and he had a brother John. Andrew married Emma Arntsdatter, b. Sept 3, 1880. She was from Nes, Hedmark, so maybe he was too. That might be a lead. They were married in about 1898 in Norway, first son born in US April 1899. They had 12 children. I don't know where Andrew emigrated to when he first came to the US in 1890, so I havent been able to locate his naturalization papers. Then he went back to Norway as a US citizen before he married Emma. Andrew outlived his wife, so when he died at age 80, the informant didn't know about his past in Norway.

I am a little confused about what's where, so you might have this already:Emma Arntsdatter married Anders Pedersen July 9 1898. He was born April 7 1873 at Hovelsrudeie, confirmation Oct 2 1887. His father Peder Evensen at Hovelsrudeie. (I believe I've given information about Emma earlier). (NES Mini 8 1883-1905 2/2 f.31 no.14). Emma was a servant at the time of the marriage.Going back to Anders Christening (July 6 1873), I find his parents Peder Evensen Hovelsrudeie and wife Pauline Embretsdatter. (NES Mini 5 1872-1886 f.9 no.75). Peder is supposed to be born 1833, Pauline 1835 (such information is far from reliable given).Old news?
