Takknemlig for hjelp!

One of the best ways to find a living 'lost' person is tracking their driving records: car registration, driving record and license. It leaves a long thread behind as the car needs registration each year and they need a current driver's license. And this is public knowledge. Often the info is kept for 30 years or more depending on the state. Here is a web site for Minnesota: http://www.dps.state.mn.us/dvs/

I had another thought. It is possible that Ralph, if he lived to adulthood, was involved somehow in World War Two. He is at the right age range, and could have gone into the army during the war. From there, it is possible he died, but also possible that he located in another place in the USA after the war. That happened. It's like the old saying after World War 1, 'How can you keep them down on the farm, after they've seen Paree?(Paris)' There weren't many opportunities for a young guy back in the little hometown, and I will say that area isn't the best farmland. You could write to the St. Louis County historical society and see if he went into the army during the war. They kept track of those things.I couldn't figure out how to use the Minnesota website for finding driver's license info. Anyone know how? Which link do I click on?Taryn

That's a good tip, Taryn - I did see one Ralph Lyngstad down in California somewhere, maybe I should check again. I didn't find out anything at the driver's licence info either, but I think maybe one has to write/phone there, and that there isn't any searchable data on the web page.Marianne
