Inger Matea Hansen had a child with Magnus Engebretsen. The son was born in 1866 and christened on March 4, 1866 at Nordre Land. The son's name was Henrik Martinius Magnusen. In 1875 he lived with Inger Matea's parents at the Skraederhaugen Gaard, Nordsinni, Land. What ever happened to Inger Matea Hansen and whatever happened to Henrik Martinius Magnusen? There is a Inger Mathea Hansdatter, who marries Olaf Niklassen in Tønsberg, Vestfold in 1888. Alexander, The Inger Matea Hansen that I am looking for was born in 1843 at Land, Oppland. There is a Henry Magnusen that emigrated to America from Oslo on June 7, 1888 that appears to be the correct Henrik. He traveled on the Thingvala shipping line. Can anyone tell me where this boat landed in America and when? Mange takk.

It seems he travelled with SS Thingvalla.You can read about Thingvalla on this site: http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_ship.asp?sh=thingThingvalla departed from Kristiania (Oslo) June 7, 1888, and arrived in New York, June 22. (It collided on its next voyage, 105 people killed).If it is the correct Henry, you might find him on Ellis Island in June 1888.
