Jeg søker Halvor Emil Halvorsen, f.30.nov. 1869 i Trondheim, som emigrerte til Amerika ca 1891. Trolig er det denne Halvor som emigrer fra Trondheim 27. april 1891, 21 år gammel, reisemål Chicago III, linje Tingvalla via Christiania. Var Tingvalla et skip? Lenke Har prøvd å finne ham i Amerika (Family Search)uten hell. Hans foreldre var Iver Halvorsen og Anne Stuedahl, f. henholdsvis 1842 (Kvikne)og 1832 (Tydal). I flg. slektsopptegnelser ble Halvor gift med en norskættet kvinne ved navn Henrikke og de fikk en sønn, Arnold Eugen Halvorsen, f. 4. juni 1895. Kan noen hjelpe?

Hei,'Thingvalla' var både et skip (S/S Thingvalla) og rederi (The Thingvalla line) [url="http://www.norwayheritage.com/p_shiplist.asp?co=thing>LenkeS/S Thingvalla gikk i rute Christiania - Christiansand - New York.Våren 1891 så reiste det fra Christiania 30. april, ankom New York 17, mai.

Sorry, jeg prøvde å lime inn et svar fra Margit, men det lot seg ikke gjøre, gjentar her noe av det hun sier:He seemed to use Emil as name in Illinois: Halvorsen, Emil, and Soren,Fredricka married 04/01/1893 Cook. It appears that Arnold was orphaned at a young age and lived with an uncle and aunt. John Ahlstrom f.i Sweden and his wife Josephine f.i Norway. He is living with them in both the 1910 and 1920 census. He is with his parents in the 1900 census. Emil was f.1869 November i Norway and Fredrikka is called Ricka and was born Sept 1872 in Norway.1900 United States Federal Census, Illinois, Cook, Chicago Ward 11 District 302 - Margit

Takk til Randi og Jan Peter for hjelpen, and a special thanks to Margit for finding Halvor Emil. Halvor Emil was born in Trondheim 30, nov. 1869, son of Iver Halvorsen, born 1842 in Kvikne, HE, d. 1899 in Trondheim ST, and Anne Olsdatter Stuedal, born 1832 in Tydal,ST d. 1915 in Kristiania (daughter of Ole Pedersen 1806-1885, Stuedal Øvre i Tydal and Beret Larsdatter Nesvold, 1811-1859. See the Tydal book). I dont have the Tydal book in front of me now, but I belive it says that Halvor Emil died 28.6. 1927 in Amerika (the information might be from the book by Johannes Stuedahl/Haldis Stuedahl. I will look it up later). If the Arnold you have found is the right person, there must be an other explanation to why he is living with John and Josepine Ahlstrøm in 1910 and 1920. I*ll be greatefull for any further information you have about this family.Gunn-Helen
