If Nordstrand was a former kommune of Aker, where would I search for information about my family around the years of 1915-1950. Do I look under Nordstrand, Oslo or one of the 'Aker' locations (North,South,East,or West Aker).Thanks for the help.

Nordstrand was a part of Aker kommune, being a separate parish since 1906 (before then a part of østre Aker). Nordstrand joined Oslo with the rest of Aker in 1948. 'All' the church books from Nordstrand are under Oslo in the 'online church books', but it seems that many are still stored in the church office...One of the local history groups in the area has transcribed the local census from 1947. You can see the list of surnames on their page ([url="http://eikaberg.org/>http://eikaberg.org/), under 'Manntall 1947 Nordstrand' and if you find the surname you want you can contact them. Also the Oslo city archives (
