I would like clarification of one of the fields in the title database. It is clear that 'Date of reg.' means the date that the emigrant registered in preparation to leave, but what does 'Date' mean? Is that the date the ship was expected to leave Trondheim?

These two fields are found in the original books. My understanding has been that the first is the date when the emigrant was registered by the police, and the second 'Date' is the day of departure. But, most emigrants from Trondheim did not embark in Trondheim on a steamer bound for America. They would go to other ports in Norway, or Scotland/England, so the date of 'emigration' from Europe will be a third date.
