I have found a few references where Even Jørgenson Bakken, son of Jørgen Jørgenson and Kjersti Evensdatter was reported to have died 25 MAY 1823 at just two months old. Now, I found his confirmation 1 Nov 1840 when he was age 16. This Even Jørgenson went on to move to Vestre Slidre and had one child out of wedlock. He later ended up in Nordre Land.Darin

hello, he didn`t die - here is his confirmation (Hemsedal), nr. 19: Lenke Family Search says he died 2 months old, but you can`t always trust the information found there. Maybe a brother of his was buried?Astrid

Sorry - I was unable to view your posts until now. As Astrid has pointed out he is number 19 on the confirmation list for 1 Nov 1840.LenkeThis is a very interesting individual (Even Jørgerson). I spent about 23 years looking for him without knowing his name.He left Hallingdal for Vestre Slidre on 11 Nov 1858 (per the church record). On 14 Nov 1858 he married Marit Andersdatter Grythe in Vestre Slidre. During this time he went to Etnedal to work on the Hestekind farm (so the story goes) and it is at this time that he got my greatgreatgreatgrandmother pregnant. The child that she had, Kristian Evenson Engen, was my greatgreatgrandfather. I did not know his name(Even's) until child support papers were found in Hammar naming him as the father. After the child support papers were served he later moved Pettersveen in Søndre Land. After this particular Even Jørgerson was purported to have died at 2 months I thought I would have to start the search all over again. Luckily I found his confirmation prooving that he lived past the two months. Are either of you two Astrid or Vigdis related to this family?Darin
