Jeg fikk lyst til å dele denne med deg!Interessant lesning.Det er nekrologen til et av barnebarna til Andrew Reinen:-----Wisconsin State Journal (Madison, WI) - November 23, 2005 Deceased Name: Severson, Mabel 'Mae' R.SUN PRAIRIE - Mae Reinen Severson, age 91, died the morning of Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005, in her own home, of a serious health condition she had in her life, congestive heart failure. She was born on Dec. 1, 1913, on a farm on Happy Valley Road and lived her entire life in and around Sun Prairie.Mae was never one to paint a sentimental picture of her family's farm, describing it as a life of hard work. She attended Happy Valley School (which still stands) and played the piano for her teacher on cold winter mornings while the other students marched in order to warm up, as the school lacked heating. She would accompany her musically-gifted mother, Helen, in concerts at churches in the area, including their own Bristol Lutheran Church. She married Clarence (C.A.) Severson, who lived several farms down Happy Valley Road and the young couple had two children, Dolores and Vernon. During the difficult years of the Depression, Clarence took what jobs he could find and eventually secured good employment at the Gisholt factory in Madison (where he eventually achieved a supervisory position). In their Main Street home, in Sun Prairie, they raised much of their own food in a garden and orchard and kept bees, chickens and a milk cow. Mae had a lifelong love of nature and sympathy for animals. As the fortunes of the country improved in World War II, so did Clarence and Mae's.Clarence left the Gisholt and used his war bonds to start the first of several of his own businesses, ending with a trucking business. Mae worked with him as an accountant and general organizer, and invested their profits in rental properties. Clarence's obvious capability, friendly disposition and wide contacts led to a political career, culminating in his being elected Mayor of Sun Prairie (1965-1969) and afterwards, the Dane County Board of Supervisors. In the mid-sixties, Mae and Clarence became Packer Backers and attended most of the team's games, including the Super Bowls of 1966 and 1967. When Clarence died prematurely in 1980 (tobacco-related causes) Mae found some solace in following up more strongly in her interest in antiques. Her nephew, Brian Femrite, was then among southern Wisconsin's leading antique dealers and she spent many years working with him. She also collected some items herself, including several related to her own Norwegian background. She enjoyed eating out, her favorite restaurants were Herreman's, Sir Hobo's and Sunnyside on Lake Kegonsa. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels outside her house and going to nature preserves, especially Horicon. She enjoyed movies all her life and in her last years, thanks to cable TV, caught up on many she did not have the money or time to see during the Depression. She loved to shop, on Watertown's Main Street with her mother or on Capitol Square (in the years it contained good stores), or in the East Towne shopping center. At the end of her life, she was grateful for the help she received from the Colonial Club, HospiceCare (outpatient services) and caregiver, Marilyn Snow, but she remained the mistress of her own destiny. Throughout her life she found great strength in her faith and her lifelong membership in the Lutheran church. She is survived by her children, Dolores Severson Evans of Tucson, Ariz., and Vernon (Margaret) Severson of Black River Falls (both of her children went on to accomplished careers in education); four grandchildren, Jeff Evans of Tucson, Ariz., Greg (Alice) Evans of Tucson, Mandy Severson (Tom) Falloon of St. Cloud, Minn., and Jon (Caroline) Severson of St. Louis Park, Minn.; three great-grandchildren, Soren Falloon, August Falloon and Greta Severson; a sister, Lorraine Reinen Femrite of Madison (who was at Mae's side when she died, and was a great help in her last months); a brother, Maurice (Alice) Reinen of Lodi; sisters-in-law, Betty Reinen of Sun Prairie, and Doris Quinn Severson of Westfield; nephews and nieces; and many other relatives.Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Peter Samuel (Sam) Reinen and her mother, Helen Mell Reinen; grandparents, Andrew (one of the original organizers of Bristol Lutheran Church) and Anna Reinen, Gustov and Sophie Mell (who later moved to Lake Mills, where Mae often visited them as a girl); her sister, Marian Reinen Nelson; brother, Donald Reinen; son-in-law, Lee Evans; brothers-in-law, Art Femrite and Olin Nelson; and Clarence's 10 brothers; and sisters.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the CRESS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1310 Emerald Terrace, in Sun Prairie, with the Rev. Dr. David J. Berggren officiating. Burial will be held in the Sunset Memory Gardens, in Madison.Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or charity of one's choice would be appreciated.Cress Funeral & Cremation Service 1310 Emerald Terrace Sun Prairie (608) 837-9054 www.cressfunrealservice.com

Hei Jon.
