Johanne Larsdatter Wengshoel, født 1858 i Ringsaker.2. Mathias Larsson Wengshoel, født 1861 i Ringsaker.3. Niels Larsson Wengshoel, født 1863 i Ringsaker.4.

LOUIS PARK Elizabeth Grindland, sports fanA Minnesota resident for nearly 50 years, Elizabeth Stoffel Piontkowski Grindland was a loyal fan of local sports teams. She enjoyed spending her Sundays watching the Vikings, her summers following the Twins, her winters rooting for the Timberwolves, and she was a fan of Minnesota Gophers athletics year-round.Grindland was so into sports that when she required an emergency room visit on Jan. 10, she made it clear she needed to get home soon because the Timberwolves were about to tip off against the Los Angeles Lakers.Grindland died Jan. 11 as a result of cardiac arrest. She was 85.''I would always call her up on Thursdays and ask her if the Vikings were going to win that week,'' her grandson Kern Wensole said. ''And it didn't matter who we were playing, she always said we were going to win. She was very, very loyal to her teams.''She was born Aug. 26, 1919 in Great Falls, Mont. She lived there briefly before her family moved to Orr, N.D., where she attended school. Her highlight there was playing on a girls' basketball team that won a state tournament in high school. After graduating in 1936, she moved to Minneapolis and was a nanny for one year before moving to the West Coast. There, she worked as a nanny as well and worked on planes for Lockheed during the war. She moved back to Minnesota with her husband and eventually spent some time at Blake Lake in Amery, Wis. She had lived in Wayzata andSt. Louis Park since 1995.Her dream, daughter Michele Anderson said, was to become a basketball coach. That never happened, but it didn't stop her from following the game.In her apartment, a den was dedicated to local sports heroes. An autographed photo of Viking Michael Bennett and a baseball signed by former Twin Frank Viola were among the hundreds of items she had on display.''Like my nephew said, it was like walking into a man's apartment,'' Andersen said.No matter what hand was dealt to her mother in life, Andersen said, she held her ground.''She was tough,'' Andersen said. ''She was a tough, strong worker. Nothing kept her down. If she couldn't get something, lost a job, she kept plodding along.''Survivors include daughters Mary Kay Hoseth, Michele Andersen and Nancy Mueller, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Jan. 17 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Edina.******************MVH Gisle
