Guest Peter Mels

Hello, Is ther more news about the persons i recieved in 2002.Gillische Gillisdatter Mel, born approx. 1655, married Rasmus Christensen. Gillische died in 1698, Rasmus Christensen in January 1703. They had two sons (Gillis and Søren), and two daughters (Birgithe and Mette). The children adopted 'Mel' as their name.Gillis Rasmussen Mel was born around 1681. The probate court states he was 'absent' in 1703, but April 4, 1698 he seems to have been present, as he transferred the things he inherited from his mother to his sister Birgithe.Where was Rasmus Christensen born an who where his parents.

I don't know if this will help you a lot, but this family has already been discussed and Gillische's parents are mentioned. Nothing more about her husband, though: Lenke

Sorry, Peter, I do not know anything more about Rasmus.By the way, can you read Dutch paleographics from the 17th century?I would like to know the identity of 3 baptism witnesses in Amsterdam 1671: Lenke picture 1, and whether their Dutch spelled names may be:Witness no. 1: a male Jurgen Pieterszoon?Witness no. 2: a female Susanna Pietersdochter? OR Pieterss? wife?Witness no. 3: a female Anne(tje?) Jurgensdochter OR Jurgenss? wife?Or maybe something else--.I would appreciate yours' or any of your Dutch friends/colleagues' comments on this.Apologize for intervening here with another topic!
