Eg har motteke følgjande spørsmål frå Gig Harbor, WA som eg ikkje er i stand til å svara på, men kanskje ein eller annan ekspert på Eggedal kan hjelpa?~~~~~~~~~~~~The brother of a friend of mine is going to Norway next summer. His great grandfather came from Eggedal, the Sigdal parish in Buskerud county. He so much wants to make contact with one of his distant ‘cousins’ while over there.His great grandfather was Bjorn Reiersen, born on April 7, 1831. He was the son of Reier Bjornsen Amundrud(?) and Guri Pedersdatter. He went to America in 1861. Bjorn had several siblings:1. Guri Reyersdatter-born 1820-married Even Kristopher Hagaeiet in 1844. Had children:* Guri (ca 1848),* Kristofor (ca 1851),* Ingeborg (ca 1861).2. Mari Reyersdatter-born 18223. Astrid-born 18244. Kari-born 1826-married Even Andersen in 18505. Your friend´s only hope to find decendants in Norway are possible decendants of Guri.... Or perhaps from siblings of Sigrid Olsdatter Lauvli (Bjorn Reiersen´s second wife...)----------From Sigdalsboka page 813 - Amundrud:Reidar Bjørnsen and Guri Pedersdatter had 6 children:1. Guri Reiersdatter- born 1820 - married 1844 to Even Kristoffersen Hagaeiet. Had children:* Guri Evensdatter(ca 1848),* Kristoffer Evensen (ca 1851),* Ingeborg Evensen (ca 1861).They are here in 1865: Lenke2. Mari Reiersdatter - born 1821 - Went to America in 1854.3. Astrid Reiersdatter - born 1824 - died 1830.4. Kari Reiersdatter - born 1826. Married in 1850 to Even Andersen Fosslia. Then married 1855 to Erik Evensen Kopsengeie. Lived in Skårslia. Had 2 children: Even born 1857 and Reier born 1860. Kari, her husband and children all went to America in 1861.5. Peder Reiersen - born 1829 - died 1830.6. Bjørn Reiersen - born 1831 - married 1857 to Ragne Helgesdatter Rødningen. Lived in Demma. Bjørns wife Ragne died 1860. They had 2 children: Guri b. 1858 and Gunnhild b. 1860. Bjørn took the two daughters to America in 1861. Little Gunnhild died at sea. Bjørn then remarried in America to Sigrid Olsdatter Lauvli (Sigrid was also from Sigdal).

Guri Reiersdatter and Even Kristoffersen had more children....1. MARI 1846 (unmarried to America 1880)2. GURI 1849 (with her parents in 1865)2. CHRISTOPHER 1852 (unmarried to Fergus Falls, Minnesota, 1880)3. REIER 1855 (probably dead before 1865.)4. OLE 1858 (probably dead before 1865.)3. MARTE 1859 (probably dead before 1865.)5. INGEBORG 1862. (confirmation 1878).

Hello.If we change the farm and faml ily book some miles away , we found Krødsherad book !. And if we went to page 364 we found the same faily living in a cotterplace named Kolbu under Heslia farm.Even and Guri was living there with their family: 1. Mari, she left for the US in 1880, 2. Guri , died unmarried 1877, 3. Kristoffer to the US in 1880, Fergus Falls in MN. I was there in last september. It was a very nice place. 4. Reier died unmarried 1883, 5. Ole born 1858 , died in the same year. 6. Marte she died in 1862, Ingeborg, she died unmarried 1888.RegardsTormod Drammen Norway

Too bad.............Sigdalsboka page 942:Ole Olsen Lauvlia b. 1816 - Married 1840 to Ragnhild Reiersdatter Besserud b. 1811. They had the following children:1. Sigrid Olsdatter b. 1840. Went to America 1867 and married there to widower Bjørn Reiersen Demma.2. Reier Olsen b. 1842. married 1869 to Berit Bjørnsdatter Kilan b. 1844. Lived in Vassbottlia. They had no children and went to America 1880.3. Ole Olsen b. 1845. Went to America 1868.4. Guri Olsdatter b. 1847. Went to America 1871 together with her parents.5. Bjørn Olsen b. 1852. Went to America 1871 together with his parents.6. Ingeborg Olsdatter b. 1855. Went to America 1871 together with her parents.
