I am looking through some records for Tolga Parish, Hedmark and have an entry which refers to one Ole Thoresen Ons marrying Beret Olsdatter Hammeren in Ons Kirke 18 May 1823. Is Ons the same as Os?moira-in-freezing-cold-Florida

I'm agree with Yngve, 'Ous' is probably an antiquated form of 'Os'.Here is from the book of the parish clerk, p. 395, nr. 2 in 1823 LenkeDid you say 'freezing-cold' Florida? Omg....;-0)

Thanks a lot, and I think it's late here! Yes it's Ous=Ons and I should have figured it out. I'm on the team transcribing 1851 census for Scotland and it's confusing with the different old letter forms... Funny Berit Olsdatter is 23 in the minister's book and 24 in the sexton's book! And yes it's below 0°C in the Land of Disney tonight... moira
