I got such great help with half of my Norwegian heritage, I figured I may as well ask about the other half. I may have found a couple of records, but I will just start with the information handed down to me by relatives. My great, great grandmothers is:Inga Josaphine Johnson - B. 1873 in Oslo (general area I'm guessing). M. Peter Peterson in WI in 1893 D. 1955 in Gurney, WI. Arrived in WI in about 1881.Parents:Christ (Christian?) Johnson - B. abt 1838 in Norway. Maren 'unknown' - B. abt 1831 in NorwayUnfortunately, that is all the info I have on them from family and US Census. I did, however, find a birth record on FamilySearch.org that matches names and birthdates. It lists Inga Josefine Johansen, B. 1873 in Skoger, Vestfold, Norway to parents Christian Johansen (1838), and Maren Helene Hansen (1831)... So this would seem to be them so far...

Jon, thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! I have all the census records after they've arrived in the U.S. The trick was finding them in Norway. The U.S. does not list maiden names, plus it's also gets a little tricky when they 'Americanize' thier name to Johnson from Johansen.
