In my wife's ancestors tree I found a Niels Arnesen. I would like to know who he is.

I found he married Inger Thomasdatter(Humløya) 10/3/1812 in Vestre Molland as you can see here:

It's possible to read he is coming from Kepple in "Bukkens sogn"(and something else I can't understand).

I had a look on 1801 census for "heile landet" and found just "Buchen sogn" without Kepple gard, and no Niels Arnesen.

I found 3 children born in Humløya:

-Anne Elisabeth 22/6/1813 (Niels was a "matros")

Anne Elisabeth

-Thomas Christian 20/2/1816

Thomas Christian

-Arent 16/9/1818

Arent

Then I found he died 4/9/1848, in Lofthuus(is it the farm ?), at the age of 82 years old. But is he the same man ?

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070613640527.jpg

So he was born around 1766. I can't understand his job in Lillesand.

Thanks for your help.

It`s written Sunds kald. Sund is in Hordaland.

I think this might be the right one: http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=38&filnamn=f1801&gardpostnr=36813&personpostnr=540650&merk=540650#ovre

Baptism 1. april 1787,left page,- and he comes from Kleppe farm in Sund: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=11688&idx_id=11688&uid=ny&idx_side=-240

Berit and Linda, thanks a lot for you.

With your help I was able to go forward along this family's branch and when Niels died.

Unfortunely it's some holes in kirkebok from Sund, so it's not possible to go surely too far ago.

I you are interest I join a pdf file with the graph. Some words are in french, so I translate:

-title of events(Rece=Census, Prof=Job)

-for date, vers=about(circa)

-(S) means Source: I have a copy of the source(kirkebok, folketelling) in my computer

-If the date is jj/mm/aaaa, it means I have read the source, if not it's just calculus.

I need help for a special source: Johannes Arnesen married twice, the second time with Christie Olsdatter. It seams something was special because I understand they need a "ekteskapsløyve" from Bergen the 29/7/1757 : ekteskapsløyve

Someone can read(and translate !) this document for me ?

Thanks again
