Ole Ingebritson (Jan. 8th 1850 - Sep. 2nd 1911) was a farmer in Franklin Co. near Dows, Iowa. He was also known as Ole Hov. He was born in Wisconsin. His parents came from Norway. I have found a suitable candidate at Hove in Vik in Sogn. I am asking for help to verify whether or not these are his parents.

The following information has been told by family members, and must of course be verified:

- Ole Ingebritson had a sister, Augusta Alvorson, born on Mach 9th 1845 in Greene Co, Wisconsin. Augusta had a daughter, Mrs. Gruppe.

- The parents of Ole and Augusta were Erik and Annie Ingebritson.

- Ever Ingebritson married to Ellen was a cousin of Ole. They had the son Dan, married to Mary Reynolds, who had the daughter Evelyn, born 1917, married to Kenneth Hanson. Their three children live at Dows, Iowa.

Candidate: Erik Ingebriktson Hove married Anna Ivarsdaughter Undi in 1843: Http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=12&filnamn=sognvigd&gardpostnr=12354&merk=12354#ovre and went to the US in 1843 (no. 18 and 19): http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=11758&idx_id=11758&uid=ny&idx_side=-219

1860: Erick Engerbricksen and Ingeber have a daughter Augusta and a son Ole: http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=27&filnamn=ft21001860&gardpostnr=38646&merk=38646#ovre

1880: A good candidate for Augusta: http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=16&filnamn=IOWA1880&gardpostnr=11941&merk=11941#ovre

Some more background information: Ole was first married about 1876? to Cynthia Oleson (Aug 9th or 16th 1856 - Apr 26th, 1886). 1880 census: http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=37&filnamn=IOWA1880&gardpostnr=12106&merk=12106#ovre

Ole was married for the second time in March 1886 to Cynthia's sister Barbara (Betsy) Oleson (Dec. 16th 1845 - Jan. 21st 1925).

Barbara's first husband was Mons Charlson (Dec.3rd 1830 (1828?) - Oct. 28th or 4th 1884). 1880 census: http://digitalarkivet.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=38&filnamn=IOWA1880&gardpostnr=12110&personpostnr=12110#nedre

Please beware that in the 1880 census, all of Franklin Co, Ia is listed under Floyd Co. in the online database.

Cynthia and Barbara were daughters of William Oleson / Viking Olson Olde (Nov. 8th 1822 - Aug 28th 1897) and his wife Inger Mikkelsdaughter Gjerald (Jan. 5th 1823 - May 27th 1913) from Voss. One of Cynthia and Barbara's sisters was Mary Hagenson who was my aunt. Viking Olson Olde and his family are found in Vossaboki, vol IV, page 272: http://www.ullstad.com/ Viking and Inger are buried at the Otis Grove Cemetery in Franklin County, outside Dows, Iowa. We have good information about the forefathers and most of the descendants of Viking and Inger.

Ole and Cynthia had the following children: Edward 1876, Mollie George, Oscar ca. 1879, and Severt 1886.

Ole and Barbara had the following children: one child who died in infancy, Ida Peterson 1888, Amos, and Josephine Vandervort 1892

Barbara and Mons had four chldren who all died young: (Carl) Andrew ca 1870, Willie ca 1872 Josephine and Ida ca 1878.

I prefer to keep the discussion in English for the benefit of Ole's descendants who will follow this discussion.
