Søster til min farmor, Thea Kristiansdatter Haugen født 18 sep. 1887 reiste til Wisconsin,USA 5 juni 1912 og fikk en sønn Erling Matteson i USA, født 1 juli 1913. (Vet ikke farens navn). Erling døde i 1983, vet ikke dato, men sted: Newark, Kendall, Illinois, USA.

Han ble gift med Violett i USA, vet ikke dato eller hennes etternavn.

 

De fikk tre barn: Kenneth Earl f. 1939, David Talbert f.1940 og Gregory f.1953.

  Earling Talbert Matteson, 70, of Newark, died Saturday, Oct. 8 at Morris Community Hospital. He was born July 1, 1913 in Chicago, the son of George and Thea (Haugen) Matteson. He married Violet Peterson, Dec. 31, 1938 in the Grace Lutheran Church.
  
  
  Survivors include his wife, Violet; three sons, Kenneth (Ruby) Matteson, David (Billie Jean) Matteson, both of Morris, and Gregory (Cheryl) Matteson of Ottawa; three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Mildred) Batchelor of Willard, N. C., Mrs. Howard (Betty) Stamer of Long Grove, Iowa, Mrs. Frank (Georgene) Kulig of Morris; five grandchildren, Lisa, Wendy, Michael, Craig and Chesi.
  
  
  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Grace Matteson.
  
  
  Mr. Matteson was a member of the Newark Lutheran Church. He had served as water and street commissioner for Newark, and retired from Aurora Sanitary District. He was a member of the Alano Club in Joliet; served with the C. C. C. Camp from 1931-33.
  
  
  Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Larson-Gabel Funeral Home in Newark with the Pastor O. Trygve Holter officiating.
  
  
  Burial was in the West Lisbon Cemetery.
  
  
  Memorials may be directed to the heart fund, A. A. or the donor's choice
  
  
  Pallbearers were Otis Pinsor, Jack Ostrem, Jerry Hozhueter, Jean Morrison, Wilfred Dix and Russell Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Peterson and Fred Martins.
