Ole Larsen Sortebraaten from Gol, Hallingdal

I am wondering if somebody with the Gol, Hallingdal bygdeboks can tell me when Ole Larsen Sortebraaten went to America? He was born November 23, 1862 in Aal, Hallingdal. He moved with his parents Lars Sevatsen and Ambjor Olsdatter to Gol in 1865. He was confirmed in Gol in 1879. The 1865 Census for Gol is not in existence. If you could tell me the names of his brothers and sisters I would appreciate that too. In America he used the name Ole Braathen. Thank you. Clark Monson

Gol VI says Ola left for America about 1890. Ola and his 3 brothers all left for America, only the 2 sisters stayed in Norway. I found some pictures of the two sisters on the Norwegian digitalmuseum:

Ola’s brother Sevat (Severt Braaten) had 10 children. One of his daughters visited Norway about 30 years ago. I think she has written a book “The history of Severt & Julia Braaten and their ancestors and descendants”.

Ola’s brother Sevat born 1864 is missing from the summery above, 4 boys and 2 girls.

 

Ola’s mother Ambjørg Olsdatter is number 4 in the front row of this picture from about 1905:

Ambjørg has a different headgear then the other women because she was born in Aal. The headgear “hette” was used in the upper part of Hallingdal

Ole Larsen Sortebråten left for America in 1890, nr. 7. BUT it says here that he was born i 1868... I see from the list above, that Lars and Ambjør had two sons by the name of Ole, in 1862 and 1868. Did they both grow up and did they both go to America?

So they did have two sons named Ole (I´ve come across it earlier, but not very often),
