Christen Mandrupsen of Jernvaerket, Asker married to Goro Olsdatter likely in 1720s or 1730s

I am looking for information concerning the family of Christen Mandrupsen. He lived in Asker, Akershus in 1731 when his son Jens Christensen was born there and his residence is described as "Vaerket" (perhaps Baerum or Dikemark jernverk)

 

With the assistance of Berit Knudsen the following churchbook entry was located:

No mother is given for Jens Christensen

 

 

However, the following suggests that unless Christen Mandrupsen were remarried between 1731 and 1737, the mother of Jens Christensen should be Goro Olsdatter (bottom right of page):

A Mogens Mandrupsen is a witness at the christening. And Mogens Mandrupsen was married in Asker in 1731 in Asker:

Here you will see that the Mandrupsen family appears to have been well-established in Asker as there is a likely brother to Christen Mandrupsen named Jacob who was married in 1729 (see bottom centre of page)

It looks like the Mandrupsen family was closely associated with the Jernverk business as here I see Jacob (likely another brother to Christen) working at Moss Jernverk

Jacob Mandrupsen og Ole Erichsen var kullbrennere ved kullmilene som lå på jernverkets eiendom. Den nærmeste kullmilen lå der det i dag er parkeringsplass på Myra og som før het

Kullebunnen.

 

Since Jacob Mandrupsen also had a child named Mallene, perhaps that was the name of the mother of these two possible brothers:

Thank you for your reply and help, Espen. Are you related to this Mandrupsen family? I was surprised to see so much information so quickly.

 

Based on the military records, it looks like Jacob Mandrupsen was born about 1698, as he was 35 in 1733. In addition to any association with Ironwork, it is clear that Jacob is a soldier and he is later posted to the Garnisons menighet.

 

(By the way, where did you find these military records - I am trying to find another military family on the west coast a few years earlier in the 1720s but cannot find any good sources)

 

I am guesing that the Mons Manrupsen, who was fadder at the birth of Berthe Jakobsdatter in 1734, is the same person as Mogens Mandrupsen who was fadder at the birth of Mallene Christensen in 1737

 

Do you agree that with three men all named Mandrupsen living in the same area at the same time it is likely that they are brothers and that they were born in that place or came there as children, so that it is likely their father died there.

Tybring, I am not related to the Mandrupsen family. The information I shared was collected due to to fact that the family lived a few years in Nesodden (my area of interest).

 

I am sorry that I don`t have any further information about them. I see it as very likely that the three Mandrupsens were brothers, but I have not yet seen any documentation that can tell us that for sure.

I do belive Mons and Mogens Mandrupsen is the same person.
