Gerald "Jerry" Johnson, 68, died Saturday, January 22, 2004 at Oakland Park Nursing Home, Thief River Falls, MN.

 

Gerald Henry Johnson was born March 8, 1936 on the family farm at Viking, MN, the son of Harold and Edith (Lian) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Newfolden, MN. He grew up and attended school, graduating in 1955 from Newfolden High School.

 

On December 15, 1956, Jerry was united in marriage to Marcy Leiran in Newfolden by Reverend Myhrer. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls. Jerry worked at Clark Station, Mobile Gas Station and Bridgeman's. Jerry and Marcy owned and operated the Mobil Bulk Plant, which they ran for 4 years. They then went to Midland Co-op and then to Tireland. Jerry retired in 1981 due to declining health.

 

Jerry held membership in the Eagles Club, Thief River Falls. He enjoyed hunting, wood carving, leather work, 4-wheeling with his boys and camping.

 

Survived by wife, Marcy, Thief River Falls, MN; 5 children, Danny (Lor), David (Shelly), Dwight (Shelly), Kevin (Sue) and Kent (Julie) Johnson all Thief River Falls, MN; 10 grandchildren, Patrick Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Krissy Johnson, Travis Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Spencer Johnson, Anna Johnson, Jacob Johnson and Grady Johnson; 5 step grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Halland, Sara (Troy) Hoglo, Lee Tofstad, Loren Tofstad and Ryan Hoglo; 1 great grandchild, Adriana Johnson; 5 step great grandchildren, Marly Halland, Brady Tofstad, Katelynn Tofstad, Gavin Hoglo and Mara Halland; sister, Sylvia Johnson, Pine City, MN; brother, Alton (Kathy) Johnson, Hamilton, MT; half sister, Shelly (Pete) Mai, Littlefork, MN and half brother, George Lindbeck Jr., California.

 

Preceded in death by great granddaughter, Kali Johnson, parents, sisters, Sidney and Judy Johnson, half sister, Joy Lindbeck and step father, George Lindbeck. Burial:

Thief River Falls - Joy M Lindbeck, 50, died Saturday, August 14, 1999 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17 at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Reverend Mel Sich officiating. Carolyn Trontvet was the organist, and a vocal duet was presented by Mark and Audrey Hanson. Casketbearers were Dave Johnson, Paul Johnson, Rick Lindemoen and Tony Mai. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Marshall county near Newfolden.

Joy Marjorie Lindbeck was born on April 18, 1949 in Warren, the daughter of George W. and Edith (Lien) Lindbeck. She grew up and attended school in Newfolden. In 1973 she entered the Johnson Boarding Home.

She worked at the ODC in Thief River Falls and also worked and attended the DAC.

Joy is survived by two sisters, Sylvia Johnson of Pine City and Shelley (Pete) Mai of Big Falls; three brothers, Alton (Kathy) Johnson of Hamilton, MT, Gerald (Marcy) Johnson of Thief River Falls and George (Kim) Lindbeck Jr. of Victorville, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Sydney Johnson and one sister, Judy Johnson. A00003B1999AG18

Kathleen Johnson passed away August 22, 2013 after a four-year struggle with Creutzfeldt Jakob disease. She was patiently and kindly cared for by her husband, Alton Johnson, and son, Curtis Johnson, in their home until Alton’s death on April 8, 2013 from thrombosis of the lungs. Curtis continued to care for his mother at home with the help of hospice and in-home caregivers until her death. They were preceded in death by their son, Ricky Johnson, in May 2007. Theyt are survived by sons Curtis Johnson and his daugther, Shelby; Brian Johnson and his wife, Lori Pollard-Johnson, and their children, Kacea and Grady; Kathleen’s sisters Maryann Falk and Colleen Powell; Alton’s sisters Shelley Mai and Sylvia Johnson, of Minnesota, And Alton’s brother George Johnson of California.

There will be a memorial gathering for Kathleen and Alton Johnson at the home of L.M. and Colleen Powell, 341 Grantsdale Road, on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 3 p.m. We extend an invitation to friends and neighbors to attend and share memories.
