lSHPEMING - Eldora Jose, 82, of 624 Park Street, passed away on Friday morning, June 8, 2001, at Bell Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

She was born August 18, 1918 in Negaunee to Ernest "Lambert" and Katherine (Prowse) Chard. She was a lifelong area resident except for a period when the family moved to Lansing. She attended Negaunee High School. She worked at Quaal's Department Store in Ishpeming for a period of time. She married Marvin Jose on November 26, 1942 at Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming. She was a homemaker who was a loving wife and mother who cared for her family and others. She had many friends who will dearly miss her.

She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church Women's Evening Guild, a past member of the Parents Group for the Ishpeming Blue Notes Drum and Bugle Corps, which her daughters were members of; a past member of the The New York Club of Ishpeming, and a member of several other clubs.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothea (James) Taylor, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Marjorie (Tom) Myers of Ishpemig; several grandchildren, Corey, Tracy, and Bradley Taylor of Myrtle Beach, SC, Katie and Kerrie Myers of Ishpeming; several cousins; a very special cousin, Shirley Northey of Negaunee; sisters-in-law Esther Jose of Aneheim, California, and Betty Chard of Mishawaka, lndiana; nieces Sandra Crowell of Mishawaka, Indiana, Garnelle (Michael) Boudreau, of Oviedo, Florida; nephews Lambert "Lanny" (Judy) Chard of Gaylord, Michigan, Charles (Mary) Chard, of Madison Heights, Michigan, Gene (Carol) Jose, of Aneheim, California.

She was preceded in death by her father Lambert in August, 1974, her mother Katherine (Dino) Martinotti in May, 1985, her husband Marvin, on April 19, 1980' her brother Leonard Chard in March, 1989, her brother-in-law Garnet Jose in October 1981, and her sister-in-law Gladys Jose in March, 1999.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 12 at Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. The Reverend Virginia Peacock will ofiiciate. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be in the Ishpeming Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Taylor, Charles Chard, Lambert Chard, Tom Myers, and George Holmgren.

The Bjork & Zhulkles Funeral Home in in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Chard, 80, passed away on Saturday, October 19th in the Countryside Place Nursing Home, in Mishawaka, after a courageous battle with cancer. Elizabeth was born on February 6,1922 in Ishpeming, Michigan to the late William and Emily (Brewer) Hooper. Betty resided with her daughter, Sandra, in Mishawaka, for the past eighteen years.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Crowell, of Mishawaka, and Garnelle (Michael) Boudreau, of Oviedo, Florida: two sons, Lambert (Judy) Chard, of Gaylord, Michigan, and Charles (Mary) Chard, of Madison Heights, Michigan. Betty also leaves behind two sisters, Dorothy Dobson, of Ishpeming, Michigan and Marion (Dean) Abercrombie, of Sun City Center, Florida: two brothers, James and Albert (Ruth) Hooper, both of Ishpeming, Michigan: along with nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, and several step grand and great grandchildren. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and John Hooper; a sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Iriving Makela; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eldora and Marvin Jose; sister-in-law, Irene Hooper; brother-in-law, John Dobson; son-in-law, Robert Crowell; along with her late-former husband, Leonard Chard.

There will be no services, cremation is to take place. Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, Indiana 46637.

"She was a very loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be greatly missed."
