Hei der. Nå har jeg lett og lett og lett men denne nøtta er veldig hard å knekke...

 

For 2 uker sidene fikk jeg en melding på facebook av ei fra USA som het Mary Litland Avon. Hun så jeg het Litland til etternavn og lurte på om vi var i slekt. Jeg vet at vi ikke er i slekt siden jeg har registrert så å si hele min Litlandsslekt som var fra Herad i Farsund kommune. Jeg vet at det finnes en annen Litland-slekt fra Osterøy? rundt Bergen så jeg begynte å grave...

 

Dette var meldingen jeg fikk: "Are we related at all - Robert Litland thought we might be... Manuel Litland Birth: 10 Apr 1895 was the grandfather, Clara Litland our grandmother THEY had 3 sons, Thomas, Melvin & William....sons were born in Illinois but they returned to Norway. They were from Lyngdal. Appreciate any assistance. Thanks in advance..."

 

Robert Litland er søskenbarnet til min mor som desverre gikk vekk for noen år siden

 

Jeg hadde noen dokumenter liggende om faren til Mary Litland Avon som var Melvin Litland som jeg sendte til henne, men her stopper som sagt alle spor.

Jeg er selv fra Lyngdal og har gravd i skannende kirkebøker og folketellinger for å prøve å finne ut av hvem foreldrene til Manuel Litland var, hva de het og hvor de bodde.

 

Hun er veldig interessert i å vite mer om Manuel å Clara og spore tilbake deres etterkommere

 

Fikk i dag en ny melding: "They had a farm in Lyngdal. Their mom was Clara She died in child birth with the youngest William"

 

Denne posten ble nok veldig uoversiktlig men jeg vet det er mange smarte og vise personer her :D

Ja det er mulig at det kan være den rette Clara:). Ser på familysearch at det står Clara T. Litland som hustru når jeg søker på Manuel Litland der. Kan T stå for Thompsen?

My grandfather died in Durban around 1956, His name was Sigvald Manuel
Litland. I think he re married before he left Norway. Looking for
pointers on trying to out more about him.
I have checked the Cemetery data that I have of Natal, and did not find
