Christopher Christopherson Øvrebø, fødd i Hafslo 1867, utvandra 1883 - er han identisk med Charles C. Overby i Wilmot, South Dakota?

Recommended Posts

fødd (uekte) i Hafslo 13.9.1867
utvandra i 1883 og "forsvinn"!

Faren Christopher Hillestad (1849-1929) utvandra i 1881 og budde ei tid i Roberts Co., SD.  Eg mistenker Christopher Jr. for å vera identisk med denne Charles, òg kalla Charles C., som i FT1930 frå Lake township, Roberts Co.,SD står fram med denne huslyden:

OVERBY, Charles  65  M35  Nor  Nor  Nor  em 1870  retail merchant dry goods
OVERBY, Tilda C  41  M18  MN  Swe  Swe  wife
OVERBY, Clifford N  21  S  SD  Nor  MN  son  laborer general farm
OVERBY, Lloyd B  19  S  SD  Nor  MN  son  laborer general farm
OVERBY, Vernon B  17  S  SD  Nor  MN  son
OVERBY, James M  15  S  SD  Nor  MN  son
OVERBY, Evelyn E  12  S  SD  Nor  MN  dau
OVERBY, Myrtle A  9  S  CA  Nor  MN  dau
OVERBY, Beverly J  4  S  MN  Nor  MN  dau

Andre FT-resultat:

1900: Wilmot, Roberts Co., SD: Charles C. Overby born Aug. 1870, emigrated 1889, single merchant

1905: Wilmot, Roberts Co., SD: Chas Overby aged 34, 15 years in SD and the US, single merchant

1910: Wilmot, Roberts Co., SD: Charles Overby, aged 37, emigrated 1889, married merchant

1915: Wilmot, Roberts Co., SD: Charley Overby, aged 48, married merchant

1920: Yuba, Sutter Co., CA: Charles Overby, aged 48, emigrated 1889, married painter

1935: Lake township, Roberts Co., SD: Charles Overby, aged 68, 47 years in SD and the US, married farmer

1940: Lake township, Roberts Co., SD: Charles Overby, aged 69, married farmer

So finn eg vigsli til Charles C. Overby (30) of Wilmot, Roberts Co., SD og Tillie Ostlund (19) of Brunswick, Kennebec Co., MN i Milbank, Grant Co., SD 29.7.1907.

So til spørsmålet mitt:

Evelyn Ethel (Overby) Hanson

October 31, 1916 ~ June 7, 2013

Evelyn Ethel (Overby) Hanson died quietly in her sleep the morning of June 7, 2013. She was 96 years old. Evelyn was born on October 31, 1916, in Wilmot, SD, one of seven children of Charles Overby and Mathilda (Ostlund) Overby. She had a happy childhood and loved to tell stories about summers at the family’s lake cabin and adventures with her siblings and her lifelong friend, Florence. After graduating from high school, she attended secretarial school in Minneapolis, MN, where she was introduced to her future husband, Ralph Hanson. Following a move to San Antonio, TX, Evelyn received her Business College Degree in 1937. She and Ralph were married in 1939, in Sequin, TX, and their son, Randy, was born in San Antonio in 1941. Ralph and Evelyn moved to Fargo, ND in the early 1940’s, where their second son, Tom, was born in 1944. At the end of World War ll, Evelyn and her sister, Myrtle, moved with their children to Idaho, where they awaited the return of their husbands from the Army. From Idaho, the family moved to Spokane and later to Okanogan, WA, where Evelyn worked as a secretary. In 1956, she and Ralph once again moved their family, this time to Wenatchee, where Evelyn worked for the USDA, retiring in 1970. Evelyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee for many years. Evelyn was a superb homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful mother-in-law. Her grandchildren loved going to her house and fondly remember the many games of Scrabble she played with them. She always had time to stop what she was doing to talk and play with her grandchildren!

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; and four brothers. She is survived by her sons, Randy (Melodee) of Cashmere, and Tom (Judi) of Spokane; granddaughter, Patty of Spokane; grandsons, Chris of Leavenworth, and Matt (Lizabeth) and great-grandsons, Bruin and Travis Bye, all of Ellensburg. She is also survived by special friends, Ellen, Ann, Nancy and Carol. She has numerous nieces and nephews.

A Private Service and Inurnment will be held at the William E. and LaDean C. Steward Memorial Garden at Saddlerock Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee. Please express your thoughts and memories on the online guestbook at jonesjonesbetts.com. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home, Wenatchee.

Charles Claus Overby døydde i Wilmot, SD 26.12.1944.

Christ(opher) Christopherson!

Hmm; korleis kan me her komma vidare?

Name:     C Christoffersen
Birth:     abt 1866
Origin:     Norway
Departure:     Launceston, Tasmania
Arrival:     21 Jul 1883 - Sydney, New South Wales

Ja, en ordentlig nøtt denne her.
