Finner ingen emigrant ved navn Martin Andersen som emigrerer fra Oslo i 1876.

 

Fant kun en Carl Martin Andersen ,23,som skulle til Decorah,Iowa.Fra Nittedal.

 

Sjekket disse,men kan jo ha oversett noe.

All I know about Martin Anderson's background comes from Newfoundland census records. He was born in Norway in 1850 and emigrated to Newfoundland in 1876. His religion was Salvation Army and his birth location in Norway was spelled Scarulr although the writing was hard to read and I could find no places in Norway of similar name. I can not find Martin Anderson in the Quebec arrival lists nor can I find him in the Norwegian census of 1875 (the only Martin Anderson born in 1850 that I found in that census was married with a child and does not appear to be the person of interest). Can anyone help me trace his Norwegian roots?

"Hi, Martin Anderson from what I know lived in a town in Newfoundland once known as Grand Falls Relay Station. It was set up near the near paper mill town of Grand Falls around 1904-05. Martin was one of its earliest residents. He was a shoemaker. He was the first person to built a house in this new town. His son William Anderson known as "Billie Anderson" had a gas station and general store. Billie also had a Steam tractor that he used to haul logs to sell to the paper mill. Also when he was asked by the census taker in 1921 where he was from, the census taker would have wrote down what it sounded like to him.".   Forresten står det ikke folketellingen 1921 at Martin er født i august 1850?
