Bleff Derom for retten saaledes affsagt, at effterdi Maren Jons Dotter med hendes SognePrestes Hr.

This is not an exact translation, just so that you get the gist of it. In short:

Maren Jonsdotter from this town appealed to court that her fiancé, Jan Rolluffsøn had left her 5 years ago, shortly after their engagement.
The court summoned him to appear, but he didn't reply.
Maren gave proof from the local vicar, Otte Hansen, that they were engaged but that she had been left, and she also brought  a written certification by the vicar, that she had kept herself in a decent and proper manner all the time since her fiancé disappeared.
The court ruled that, because of this, and because Jan Rolluffsøn didn't appear, Maren would be free of the engagement and be at liberty to enter into a new engagement and marriage if God would let it come her way.

Background:

One of my ancestors is Arent Jansen Greve (c. 1670 - c. 1708), son of Jan Rollufsen Greve (died before 1674). O. Ingstad, in his Slekten Greve (Bergen, 1943), says that the wife of Jan Rollufsen is not known. I believe Jan Rollufsen might have had two wives, as Arent Jansen is much younger than his siblings.

In the 1701 baptism of Arent Jansen's first son Jan in July 1701 (https://www.digitalarkivet.no/view/255/pd00000006078355), the first godparent is "Maren Grewe, Enche". A "Marje Grefue, Encke" is also a godparent at the baptism in December 1698 of Arent Jansen's grand-nephew (https://www.digitalarkivet.no/view/255/pd00000006075536). This Maren Greve is not mentioned in O. Ingstad's Slekten Greve (she is a different person than the Marje or Marchie Greve, wife of Rudolf von Baren, as Rudolf was still alive in December 1698).

I had been hoping that this Maren Greve might be the widow of Jan Rollufsen Greve, and that the court case in the Bergen domkapittel might prove that there was indeed a marriage of a Jan Rollufsen and a Maren around 1700. But it appears that that marriage did not took place, so I have no proof that Maren Greve, Enke, was the widow of Jan Rollufsen Greve and the mother of Arent Jansen Greve. Too bad.
