Hi, my husband and I are researching his family history. Leslie Sigward and Doris Helen Olsen are his grandparents. I'll keep details to a minimum as they relate to living people.

 

Leslie and Doris married in the London area in 1939 and had a son and a daughter. The daughter was born in Essex, but the family then moved to Stourbridge, England (now urban, then rural) because of the Blitz. The son was born in Stourbridge, England. He has a wife and two sons (Andrew b.1984 and his brother) and we all still live in or near Stourbridge. The daughter emigrated to Australia with her parents in approx. 1970, where she lives with her family to this day. Doris remarried after Leslie's death and died about five years ago (surname Simms). 

 

Doris's family also traveled all around the world (her father was a harbour pilot in the Merchant Navy and her grandfather was a senior surgeon in the Royal Navy). He was born and grew up in Ceylon and we believe they also spent some time in South Africa. So, both families were quite intercontinental!

En annen interessant sak er at sønn av mine oldeforeldre ( August Elias Pisani og Berthe Kathrine Olsen) August Pisani født 1902 etter sigende døde 20. mai 1974 - Melbourne, Australia. Kan det ha vært kontakt mellom disse slektningene i Australia ?
Er det noen som kan hjelpe med å få bekreftet Augusts dødsfall i Australia, og også om han var gift der ?. Han var gift i Norge med Ruth Olstad (1898 - 1957)

 

Another interesting case is that the son of my great-grandparents (August Pisani and Berthe Kathrine Olsen) August Pisani born 1902 reportedly died on May 20, 1974 - Melbourne, Australia. Could there have been contact between these relatives in Australia?
Is there anyone who can help confirm August's death in Australia and also if he was married there ?. He was married in Norway to Ruth Olstad (1898 - 1957)
