Mikkel Henriksen Fossmo var fødd i Meldal 16. juli 1865 og døypt 6. august 1865.

Foreldra var Henrik Mikkelsen Hoelseggen (1820-1912) og Gjertud Olsdatter (Resell) 1833-1924.

Dei skreiv seg også for Fossmo og Bredeggen.

Dei gifta seg 19. juli 1859 og Henrik var då enkemann.

Mike was born Mikkel Henriksson Fossmo and came to America when he was 16 years old. His brother Andrew preceded him here and they lived in Sioux City, Iowa with their half sister, Gunhild Hoel. They assumed her last name while there. They were listed on a directory in Sioux City, Iowa as printers using the Hoel name. Later they had their names changed to Andrew and Michael "Mike" Hall. It was said that Hall sounded much like Hoel.

Mike married Mary Knutesdatter Hill 21 May 1892 in Ishpeming, Marquette, Michigan. Mike filed for citizenship in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and was naturalized 26 Sep 1906 in Marquette, Michigan. They had six sons in Ishpeming, Marquette, Michigan and they all competed in ski jumping tournaments. Their oldest son, Henry, was inducted in the Ishpeming Ski Hall of Fame and the Vail Ski and Snowboarding hall of fame.

Mary married Michael Hall abt 1892 and possibly in Eau Claire, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Michael filed for citizenship there but the marriage record has not yet been found. She had a brother by the name of Henry Hill, who was a miner in Alaska and Colorado. According to her death certificate, her father's name was Knute Hill. That is all that is known so far. Still working on it. Her children are listed on Michael's Memorial on Find A Grave.

Trodde det sto Hove.
