Anne Sophie Pedersdatter (or Pittersdatter) Born Laerdal? circa 1759

I am searching for information on the birth and death of Anne Sophie Pedersdatter.  I have unverified information from family records that she was born in 1759 but no location shown.  The 1801 census shows her living in Laerdal at 42 years of age which makes 1759 look like a correct year of birth.  She married in 1779 in Laerdal to Iver Erichsen (verified in Laerdal church records).  I have no information about her death.  I checked and re-checked the Laerdal records for 1759 and could find no record of her birth.  I searched records from 1752 to 1760 with no success.  Familysearch had no record of her birth in any family tree submitted to them.  There was information on her marriage and showed her as the mother of the oldest daughter in the family but had nothing on her for the rest of the children. I am particularly interested in her birth information as a way to learn about her parents, of which I know nothing.  Hoping someone can help.

Thank you for your reply.  I think the reference to (Anne) Sophie Pedersdatter in the link you provided is actually a different person than my Anne Sophie.  This (Anne) Sophie is shown living in Forde.  The 1801 census for Laerdal shows Ane Sophie Pittersdatter living with her husband, Iver Erichsen, and their family.  This is the An(n)e Sophie that is my ancestor.  What a coincidence that these two women had basically the same name, were the same age and lived so close together.  I still have no information about her birth or whom her parents may be.  Here is the link to the 2nd An(n)e Sophie - https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/58396/33

Anna Sophie Pettersdatter was born in Luster, Talle farm where her parents lived 1752-1763, but her baptism is missing in Luster church records. Her parents were Petter Rumohr Jonassen Leyrdahl baptized in Lærdal 15. Aug 1723 and died in Lærdal 23. April 1776, married in Lærdal 5 July 1751 to Synneva Pedersdatter Bjørkum, Lærdal. She was born at Stedje farm in Sogndal and baptized there 1. Jan 1733 and died in Lærdal 29. March 1785. Petter and Synneva were farmers at Talle farm in Luster from 1752 but moved 1763 to Øvre Voll in Lærdal where they died.

 

Anna Sophie married in Lærdal 7. Nov 1779 to Iver Eriksen Berge, a widower at Berge farm in Borgund. Iver came from Hylland in Aurland where he was baptized 6. Jan 1745. He died at Berge 22. July 1828 https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/11597/163

 

I found this in Luster bygdebok under Talle farm.

 

Iver`s parents were Erik Iversen Hylland (1714-1788) and Sigrid Pedersdatter Skjerpi (1708-1790), they married in Aurland 1733.

 

Petter Rumohr Leyrdal was a son of Jonas Hansen Leyrdal (1684-1743), priest in Lærdal from 1716, and Maren Ovesdatter Wangensteen from Vang in Valdres.

Thank you, Svenn.  This is very helpful and I appreciate your effort.  People on this board are so helpful it is just amazing.  Incidently, I was in Goteborg two years ago on the way to do genealogical research on my Dad's family, primarily around Glimakra.  I had a very nice dinner and evening in Goteborg, although I was not as successful in my search in the archives that I actually went there for.  But what a beautiful city.  Thanks again for your help.

Thank you Terje.  As I mentioned in my post to Svenn I am amazed and so thankful for the help given on this board.  You have provided a wealth of information and pushed back my knowledge of this family by a whole generation.  If I may ask, how did you know to look in Luster for information.  I tried looking in the search function on the digital archives and familysearch many times and could not get any clue as to where she might have been born.  To check many parishes in many different years for a piece of information seems overwhelming.  If there is another search site that can make this task easier I would sure like to know about it.  In any case I appreciate your help so much.  Thanks again.

About Luster,

 

I looked in the old bygdebok for Lærdal-Borgund (1938) under Berge farm. It says that Iver Eriksen Berge married (2) to Anna Sofie Pettersdatter Leyrdahl, Øvrevoll. Under Øvre Voll we find Petter Leyrdahl born 1723 and his family, but also that Petter came to the farm Talle in Luster and returned 1763 to Lærdal. And then I checked Talle in Luster bygdebok, excellent books written by Lars E. Øyane. Here I found more details about this family, and Anna Sofie was born "about 1759" . Baptisms are missing October 1757 - April 1761 in Luster church records.
