Johannes Andersson, sønn av Anders Bengtsson og Maria Andersdotter, f. 10 Jan 1849 i Arvika, Värmland, Sverige.
Johannes ble gift med Anna Kajsa Johansdotter f. 24 Des 1849 i Järn, Dalsland, Sverige. Disse får 5 barn i Arvika:

  1. Johan Fredrik Johannesson f. 21 Aug 1871
  2. Maria Elisabeth Johannesdotter f. 30 Apr 1873
  3. Anna Sofia Johannesdotter f. 4 Jul 1875
  4. Carl Oscar Johannesson f. 8 Apr 1878
  5. Adolf Johannesson f. 31 Jul 1880

Census for this family in Montana in 1910: Anna is widowed and head of family, so John died sometime between 1900 and 1910.  https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MLCH-CSF

Yes, this is the correct family. Obituary for Anna Anderson in The Missoulian (of Missoula, Montana) for 24 January 1919, p. 6, reads in part: "Mrs Anna K. Anderson was born in Sweden, December 25, 1849.  . . . For a short time she lived on a ranch on the west side [of Bitterroot Valley], later moving to Stevensville [where she was in 1900 and 1910 census]. . . . A large family is left to mourn her death, the members of which are: Frank Anderson of Curlew, Washington, Sopha Olson, also of Curlew, Washington; Charles Anderson of this place [Stevensville]; Edward Anderson, Portland, Oregon; Albert Anderson, Vancouver, Wash.; Maude Parks and William Anderson of Stevensville. Another daughter, Mary Foust, died two years ago."

This is in newspapers.com at https://www.newspapers.com/image/348673687/?terms="Anna%2BAnderson". I don't know how to post the actual article here - maybe someone else can help?

Frank = Johan Fredrik

Mary Foust (dead) = Maria Elisabeth

Sopha = Anna Sophia

Charles = Carl Oscar

Edward = Adolf

Albert, Maude, and William - born in Montana

Du verden! Jeg er stum.
Utrolig. Tusen, tusen, tusen takk!
John Anderson døde altså mellom 1900 og 1910.

Men det er ikke mulig å finne ut nøyaktig når?

Ser at det ligger 9stk med navnet Foust på kirkegården.

From her obituary, her husband was Charles Foust, and they had one child, a son named Vernon. Both of them are in this cemetery. The "baby daughter Foust" who died at age 6 days is also theirs.

Charles Foust also had two daughters from a previous marriage.

A John Anderson of Sweden was made a citizen of the United States in Ravalli County on 18 October 1902 - I believe that would be our John Anderson. See clipping in Stevensville newspaper at https://www.newspapers.com/clip/34659942/the_western_news/. So that narrows the death date down to between late 1902 and mid-1910.

Edited to add: the 1900 census shows two John Andersons from Sweden in Ravalli County, so this could have been the other John Anderson.

Anna Anderson actually filed for divorce from John Anderson in April 1903: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/34660198/the_western_news/. The divorce was granted 26 April 1903 on the grounds of "habitual intemperance" (in other words, he was an alcoholic): https://www.newspapers.com/clip/34660280/the_western_news/

So he may not have died by 1910 (I have found that "widowed" was often used as an euphemism for divorced women in the U.S. censuses of this time).

Edited to add: I have found no indication of his death in the Stevensville newspapers through 1920.
