Lauritz Knutson

Sherry Knutson Kuelz

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this.  My Grandfather, Lauritz Johannes Knutson,  died a year before I was born so I never got to meet him, however I discovered we still have relatives in Norway and would love to find out who and where they are.  This is the page which tells about my Great-Grandfather and down the line, if anyone could help or knows of any who may be related to any of them, I'd so appreciate it.  My Dad, Edward Johan Knutson, always wanted to find out more about his family, but never was able, so I'm continuing it for him as he passed in 2012 due to a brain tumor.

Thank you

This is from the swedish newspaper Snäll-Posten August 16th 1871 and shows that the ship Marie with captain K. Thorsen has come from Christiansund [Kristiansund] in Norway to Malmø with a cargo of 230 barrels of herring and 100 "våg" [1 våg = 18 kilograms] of fish.
