Eg vil i kveld gjerne få henta from ein av brørne til Daniel Anderson frå plassen Ytreland under Hærum i Luster, Christopher Anderson, som utvandra i 1873 og var gullgravar i Colorado til han slo seg ned som farmar i Russell Co., KS.

 

Eg har no slite med å få oppgradert de gamle notatane mine om denne huslyden og har etter kvart finne ut av det meiste, men eg står fast på fleire detaljarm, og særleg er det ei stor utfordring å finna ut kva som skjedde med sonen John, som ifølgje rapportar eg fekk hjå slekti i 1982, skal ha mist livet i Nord-Atlantaren kring 1935.  No har nokon greidd å finna han att i Wyoming.  Eg tviler sterkt på om det kan stemma, men kanskje greier nokon å finna ut av det?

Han gifte seg i Russell Co., Ks. 19.11.1887 med Mary Elizabeth, kjend som Elizabeth Meharg, f. i Kankakee Co., Ill. 14.12.1868.  Kitt og Elizabeth Anderson slo seg ned som farmarar i Fairfield township, Russell Co., Ks. og budde der levetidi ut.  Kitt d. i Larned, Pawnee Co., Ks. 10.1.1933, medan Elizabeth Anderson d. i Russell, Ks. 9.11.1957.  Dei fekk åtte born i lag:

Tora Gunilda Anderson, f. i Russell Co., Ks. 4.9.1888, d. i McPherson, Ks. 28.5.1982.  Tora gifte seg i Russell Co., Ks. 19.2.1913 med Jesse Floyd, kjend som Floyd Rock, f. i Russell Co., Ks. 20.12.1885.  Han d. i Saline, Ks. 5.5.1973.  Tora og Floyd Rock farma først i Newbern township og sidan i Logan township, båe i Dickinson Co., Ks.  Dei fekk tre born i lag.

Susie Blanche Anderson, f. i Russell Co., Ks. 9.12.1890, d. i Warrensburg, Mo. 1.11.1973.  Susie gifte seg i Russell Co., Ks. 18.2.1916 med Harvey Daniel Luckenbaugh.  Han var f. i Dickinson Co., Ks. 28.4.1893 og d. i Navarre, Ks. 25.5.1955.  Harvey og Susie farma i Logan township, Dickinson Co., Ks. og fekk to born i lag.

c. Christopher Andrew Anderson, f. i Russell Co., Ks. 1.4.1893, d. i Ponca City, Okla. 14.2.1978.  Han gifte seg første gongen i Perry, Okla. 27.8.1919 med Frances Roberta Bressie, f. i Big Springs, Tx. 29.9.1896.  Ho d. i Ponca City, Okla. 21.8.1962, og Christopher gifte seg att i Olathe, Ks. 19.12.1962 med Elma Jensen

     Christopher og Frances farma i Bressie township, Noble Co., Okla., men flytte sidan til Ponca City, Kay Co., Okla. der Christopher òg budde med andre kona Elma.

Hays Daily News - Jan. 17, 2006 - Marie Ella Duke, 93, Russell, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at Lindsborg. She was born March 16, 1912, at Vivian, La., to Thomas Jefferson and Ruby Ella (Owens) Latham. She was a homemaker. Her family lived in the Shreveport, LA, area before moving to Kansas in 1945. They settled in Russell in 1954. She was married first to Unknown Powell; later to Unknown Duke.

Survivors include two sons, James Earl Powell, Hardtner; and Dan Powell, Russell; three daughters, Mary Nell Fisher, Albany, Ore., Betty Marie Swicegood, Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., and Vera Joyce Denney, Salina; a sister Allie Mae Chiles, Bossier City, La.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great, great-great- and great-great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pohlman-Heise Mortuary, 610 N. Maple, Russell, KS 67665; burial in Russell City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Hospital and can be sent in care of the mortuary.

Arne's obituary:

Arnie N Anderson, Russell - Arnie Norman Anderson, 85, died April 23 1984 at Russell City Hospital. Born May 1 1898 at Russell, he married Marie Duke. He was a retired farm laborer, and had been a lifetime resident of Russell. He was a member of the American Legion, Russell. Survivors: wife, of the home; five stepchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be 3 pm Wednesday at Russell City Cemetery, with military honors, the Rev Lonald Bridges. Friends may call Tuesday until service time at Cline Funeral Home, Russell.

Arnie Norman Anderson, son of Christopher and Mary Elizabeth (Meharg) Anderson, was born May 1 1898 in Russell, Kansas and departed this life April 23 1984 at Russell City Hospital, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 22 days. Arnie was reared and received his education in Russell. He spent most of his life working as a farm laborer, and also was a butcher for a number of years. He served his country in both WW1 and WW2, and was a member of the Russell American Legion William Roe #99.
In October 1983 he suffered a stroke and soon thereafter entered the Russell Care Center where he spent his remaining days until he entered the hospital Monday morning. To cherish his memory are his wife, Marie Duke Anderson, of 756 E 2nd Street, Russell; five stepchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Services: Graveside services conducted Wednesday, April 25 1984, at 3 pm at the Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas. Pastor Lonald Bridges Officiating. Military Honors conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post #99 of Russell. Casket Bearers - members of the American Legion. Laid to rest in Russell City Cemetery, Russell, Kansas. Services entrusted to Cline Funeral Home, Russell, Kansas.

h. Fred Roy Anderson, f. i Russell Co., Ks. 16.10.1908, d. i Little Rock, Ark. 23.5.1976.  Han gifte seg første gongen i McDonald Co., Mo. 14.9.1935 med Leona Mathilda Weeks.  Ho var f. i Russell Co., Ks. 22.3.1916 og d.

Disie Anderson of Rose Bud died February 11, 2001 at White County Medical Center in Searcy. Born in Flippin [AK] on July 31 1921, she was 79. She was the daughter of the late Thomas Barney and Carrie (Turner) Mallonee. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Rose Bud most of her life. She was a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church at Rose Bud. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred R Anderson, who died on May 23, 1976; by two sons, Robert McCarroll and Jamie Gordon; one grandson Jeremiah and one granddaughter Susie. She is survived by two sons, Phillip McCarroll and Richard McCarroll of Rose Bud; three daughters, Helen Arnold of Bates City MO; Barbara Cole and Pat Dowls of Palco KS; 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held February 14 at 2pm in the Olmstead Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sidon Cemetery.

Mr Anderson was the son of Christopher A and Mary (Meharg) Anderson and was born in Russell County, Kansas, Oct 16 1908, but he had made his home in the Rose Bud community for the past 16 years. He was a Baptist by faith, was a veteran of WW2, and was by trade a farmer at the time of his death at age 67. He is survived by his wife, Disie Mallonee Anderson of Rose Bud; two daughters, Mrs Fern Booth of Russell Kansas, and Mrs Helen L Carney of Abilene Kansas; two brothers, Chris Anderson of Oklahoma and Arnie Anderson of Russell and one sister, Tora Rock, also of Kansas. He is survived by four grandchildren besides other relatives and friends. Services were conducted by Rev Dana Whitfield and interment was in the Sidon Cemetery by Olmstead Funeral Service.

Christopher Anderson was born December 25th 1851 in Bergen, Norway, and departed this life January 10th 1933, at the Larned State Hospital, Larned KS, age 81 years and 16 days. He came to America before he was 21 years old, and for several years was a gold miner in Colorado, where he endured many of the hardships of the miners of that day, as well as receiving some prosperity. He came to Russell county, Kansas in the year 1887, and settled on a farm 12 miles south of Russell, which farm he still owns. November 19, 1887, he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Meharg, and to this union eight children were born, all of whom are living with the exception of a son Nelson E Anderson who died January 7 1913.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Mary E Anderson of Russell KS, and his children: Tory G Rock of Navarre KS; Susie B Luckenbaugh of Navarre KS; Christ A Anderson of Marland OK; Arnie N Anderson of Russell KS; John T Anderson of Long Island NY; Tom B Anderson of Russell KS; Fred R Anderson of Honolulu HI; two brothers: Henry Anderson of Marland OK and Arnie Anderson of Ponca City OK, who are unable to be present because of sickness. He also leaves one sister Christina who lives in Bergen, Norway.
Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the Shannon Friends Church with Rev TH Parrott of the Methodist church officiating; burial in the Shannon Cemetery, with Deines Brothers in charge.

Akkurat denne omtalen var det eg fann på eit family tree hjå ancestry.com, og som eg tviler sterk på om stemmer.  Gravstaden er kjend, tross dette skal find-a-grave ha dekning for gravi!?

 

Går ein inn på find-a-grave og søker konkret på John Anderson gravlagd i Wyoming 1976, får me ingen treff!  Eg forstår ikkje denne saki i det heile.

 

Men kanskje ein eller annan kan forklara kva som ligg bak?

Eg er takksam for at du går vidare med denne saki og er spent på svaret du får.

 

Eg har sjølv vore inne og søkt på city directories og finn følgjande innførsle frå White Plains, NY i 1934:

Kan det vera «vår» John T. Anderson som likevel syner seg ha vore gift?  Kanskje ikkje; eg finn han att i city directories mellom 1926 og 1933, ein gong som «plumber» og med varierande mellombokstav, som regel F...
