Dates and locations of deaths of Peder Nielsen and his 3 wives

My great great grandfather Peder Nielsen was born February 26, 1819 in Biri, Norway and emigrated to USA via Canada in 1866 on a ship named Manilla with his 3rd wife and 4 youngest (Nils, Iver, Bergethe, Peter) of his 5 kids.  The 1870 USA census had them - Peder, 3rd wife Agnethe/Anna, Iver, Bergethe and Peter) living for a brief period of time in Benson Township in what would soon be (as of July 1, 1870) Swift County, Minnesota USA.  After 1870, I lose track of Peder and his 3rd wife Agnethe so I don't know where these two ended up; either in Minnesota, Wisconsin or back in Norway where they died.

 

I need to kmow 

1. Where & When Peder Nilesen (born February 26, 1819 in Biri) died

2. When & where - presumably Biri, Norway area - Peder's first wife - Nicoline Kristensdatter born January 22, 1822 & married Peder December 26, 1847 in Biri - died

3. When & Where Karen Jensdatter, Peder's second wife, born June 30, 1825 in Biri & married Peder October 28, 1850, died

4. When & where Agnethe Kristensdatter (older sister of Nicoline) born September 5, 1819 in Biri Norway and married Peder between 1857 and June 1866, died.  My guess is either Minnesota, Wisconsin or Norway.

As far as I can see, Peder lived on Larudeie when he married in 1847.

As far as I can see, there are no parish registers for Biri between 1855 and 1865 and no parish register (copies) between 1843 and 1891:

Of the 5 Nielsen family members who settled briefly in Benson Township, Chippewa County / soon to change to Swift County, Minnesota, so far I could only find Bergethe stayed and was seen on 1875 Minnesota census record living in Rosewood Township Chippewa County Minnesota with the childless couple Lars and Johanna Larson.  That couple as well as Bergethe's future Husband, Erik Ole Erickson, were amongst the 8-9 families that settled in Benson Township; they probably left the Stoughton or La Crosse, Wisconsin areas before arriving in Benson Township

By the way the note takers of today - with the various ancestry sites - did not notice that Iver and Bergethe were Twins, despite the Census taker's Excellent Penmanship!  See Attached

Quick Answers:  Oldest of Peder's 5 children, Johannes or John P Nelson settled in the north of La Crosse, Wisconsin area and raised a large family (his great granddaughters from Romskog family run bakery called Linda's bakery, in West Salem, Wisconsin)

#2 Child my great grandfather Nels P Nelson is buried in Bottineau, North Dakota cemetery; he was the only one of 3 of Peder's boys (Nels, Iver and Peter P) to stay in Bottineau North Dakota area.

# 3 Iver was first one to settle in Bottineau North Dakota area, but did not stay and is buried in British Columbia, Canada.

# 4 Bergethe was the only family member that I know of, so far, who stayed in the Chippewa/Swift Counties area of southwestern Minnesota, and married Erik Ole Erickson after 1875.  They raised 7 boys and Erik died at 50 years old in 1900.

# 5 Peter P returned to La Crosse Wisconsin area after living in Bottineau North Dakota area for a few years, and died in La Crosse Wisconsin area before 1940 I think.

I still don't know where Peder and wife # 3 Agnethe are buried (Minnesota or Wisconsin USA or Norway) and will keep searching.  I presume wives 1 (Nicoline)& 2 (Karen Jensdatter) died and are buried in Biri Norway area.

Church records for Biri are missing 1855-1876. But in Statsarkivet Hamar there is a list with marriages in Biri 1862. Here we find widower Peder Nilsen Austdalseie and Agnete Kristiansdatter Austdalseie. No dates, but they are listed as number 19 of 28 marriages this year.

The reason for asking about the children is that if the parents are still alive for the 1875 Census they might be living with or near one or more of the children. The only candidate I have found to date is a Bergethe Nelson living in Rosewood Chippewa. She is on page 28 of the 55 pages of this section of the 1875 Minnesota State Census. Her future husbands on page 44 of the same group of census pages. No sign of the parents.
