Trying to narrow down the death date for Per (Peder) Helgeson Hamre

Trying to narrow down the death date for Per (Peder) Helgeson Hamre from Røldal parish in Hordaland.  A family tree found on GENI profile says he died after 1674.  I have a copy of Røldal Bygdebok and on the Hamre farm section it doesn't give a death date and only notes that he has interests in the Hamre and Seim farm in 1674.  Some unsourced family trees found on Ancestry.com put his death date as 1695.  I searched the 1701 Male Census for Røldal and found in the husmann listings for the Hamre farm- a person who appears to be named Peder Halvorsen/Helgeson age 73 which would be the right age.  Is it possible Per Helgeson Hamre is alive in 1701? 

 

Røldal parish death or chronological records don't go back this far on digitalarkivet. I searched for probate index cards for Hordaland but didn't find any and am not very experienced in checking for other probate records and have trouble reading/translating the writing.   It doesn't appear that other types of probate records seem searchable.   

 

I was wondering if someone more experienced could help me to see if-

1.   Is my finding on 1701 census seem correct? and

2.  Is there is some type of will/probate or legal record for the Hamre farm in the 1701-1740 which might shed light on his actual death date.

The author(s) of this book did not find the year of death. But it seems to me you have found the right man in census 1701!

 

On page 362 and 363 in the same book one can read about a "testamente" (more like a story of his life) : https://www.nb.no/items/URN:NBN:no-nb_digibok_2016092948162?page=365 . On line 2, page 363 is mentioned the year 1680. The story is probably written by the local priest, but it seems that he was at least alive in 1680.
