I google translated to Norwegian below this text... I hope it helps for anyone who cannot read English. The translate from Norwegian to English seems to work decently.

Hello!

I am very glad that I have found this forum during my research of the Norwegian Archives. I am having a lot of trouble finding records, where to look and trouble finding records due to my language barrier. I am looking for any help finding ANY records pertaining to the below individual.

I am very sorry if I do not spell the cities, parishes, etc correctly. I will try my best.

Name: Ole Eriksen Strom

Birth: 23 February 1863

Birth Place: Trondheim, Sor-Trondelag, Norway

Emigrated: I believe he left Norway for the United States sometime before 1899 (he had a daughter in 1899 in North Dakota, USA)

Brothers: Liver and Lars

Sisters: Tina and Minnie (Minnie and Ole were twins, from what was passed down by the family)

Other Information: Minnie and Liver died when they were young (I am assuming when still in Norway), Tina had a big family but I have no idea if she ever emigrated to USA or stayed in Norway.

It would be really useful if you would confirm that the Ole E Strom that Randi found from North Dakota is the same Ole E Strom that you are seeking.

Since the Ole E Strom of North Dakota died in 1908, this is the family in the 1910 Census.

Yes, the Ole E. Strom that others found on Find a Grave is the one I am searching for more information for. As well as his wife who was from Norway. I am getting ready to make a post with some more info on them both.

I am not sure if the Ole you have found is the one i am trying to find. What may help is that he did have a twin sister named Minnie, she died when she was young though ( i am not sure how young).

Now the death notice you just posted is for the daughter of Ole and Kjersti I believe.

According to the family history found on Ancestry.com Ole and Kjersti were married in 1899 in Hillsboro.

I am equally unsure about whether the Ole I have found is correct.

I have been able to track Kjerste Sveen just fine in the US and Ole (he does not have many records i have found, still trying to find a census of him in the United States).

I am trying to find how i came to the conclusion that Eriksen was his Ole's middle name. It has been awhile since i researched him and can't seem to find the record that had his Eriksen name.

Ole E. Strom is what is seen on almost all records.

Thank you on the correction of the sex of Kjerste's sibling.

Maybe remove the Eriksen name? It is unverified. All the records i have show: Ole E. Strom

I think i put Eriksen after seeing another person's family tree, but some of their records i think may be wrong in that tree.

I think Anne-Lise has tracked down the origins of Kjersti quite well but I would question the birth data for Ole. The guess of Eriksen is quite a logical guess but the only birth date I have found for him was the FAG record. I did notice in some of the various family tree's on Ancestry that they have given him a birth date of Feb 23, 1862 and not Feb 23, 1863. Do you have an independent birth date for him or are you using the FAG date as well?

I think we will have to use both dates. On Find a Grave it shows 1863 but i have a document that was typed up by i believe one of their daughters as she was later in life. That document says Feb 23 1862.

I am hoping that finding an Ole E. Strom and Minnie Strom would be easier in the Norwegian records since they are twins (according to this record at least). So their Baptism certificates and birth dates should be recorded as the same i would assume.

Is Ole the mother?

So is Kjersti's last name MortenSveen? or just Sveen?

I was reading that the middle name usually refers to the persons father? as in Eriksen (Son of Erik).
