Sylvia Olive Davis, 92, of Akeley, MN, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids, MN.

Sylvia was born on Sept. 28, 1917 in Fosston, Minnesota, the daughter of Ingebret K. and Olive (Paasche) Kroken. She grew up and attended school in Bemidji where she graduated from high school in May of 1935.

She was united in marriage to Roy Davis on May 1, 1937. She made her home in Bemidji and Park Rapids MN. Also Oklahoma before retiring to Calimesa, CA. The last four years, she made her home with her grandson Robert L Davis (Brenda) of Akeley, MN.

She is survived by her grandsons - Bob (Brenda) Davis of Akeley, MN; Anthony (Paula) Davis of Alexandria MN, and granddaughter Tammie Davis (Todd) Simisen of Detroit Lakes MN as well as 8 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren and 7 step great great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and her son, Robert, two sisters and one brother. No public funeral services will be planned at this time.

Hazel Evelin Anderson, age 91, of rural Fosston, Minnesota, died on Thursday, February 8, 207, in Lufkin, Texas. She was spending the winter months in Texas with her daughter Carol and her husband, Bill.

Hazel was one of four children born to Ingbert and Olea (Pauska) Kroken. She was born at Four Town, Minnesota on October 20, 1915. Her parents were homesteading in the Four Town area. Hazel's mother died when Hazel was a mere five years old. She and her siblings were raised in Bemidji by their great aunt, who they lovingly called "Tanta" (Norwegian for aunt). Her father worked in Canada and other various locations to provide a living for the family.

Takk til dere som fant svar på mitt spørsmål om Olea Elvine Paasche. 😊 Jeg har hørt navnene Myrtle og Hazel omtalt i familien men ante overhodet ikke at de var barn av Olea. Det eneste jeg har hørt er at Olea ikke kom tilbake til Norge.
