I eit nabolag i Naples township, Buffalo Co., WI med fleire emigrantar frå Lårdal i Telemark, er eg komen over denne huslyden, som eg ikkje greier identifisera (Dwelling 1723):

"Christian H. Halverson was born January 19, 1857, in Faaberg, Norway, the eldest son of five children of Hans and Matilda Swenson Halverson.

They came to America when he was nine years of age, landing at Prairie du Chiene on July 4, 1866 when whence they settled in French Creek near Gainesville, where the mother of this family died and was buried just a year after coming to America."

Ingen tvil om at de har finne den «rette» huslyden, og at dei kom frå Fåberg i Gudbrandsdalen!

 

Det ser ut til at dei budde på MAUG i Fåberg då dei utvandra i 1865, og kyrkjeboki for utvandringi har fødselsdatoane til borni.  Datoen for far deira stemmer òg med kyrkjeboki for Fåberg!

 

Eg finn vigsli for Hans Halvorson med andre kona Mari Johnson i 1869, men diverre finn me lite om opphavet hennar: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XRK5-R55

 

Sonen John (1866) er rimelegvis fødd i French Creek near Gainesville, WI, men eg greier ikkje identifiserra denne staden...!?
