Jakob Eriksen Ek/Eek, b.1835-08-05

Recommended Posts

I tried to search the archive to find out when this person past away:

Jakob Eriksen Ek born in Sweden 1835-08-05. Sometimes the surname is spelt Eriksen Eek and sometimes his name is Jakob Johan.

I can see him living in Hemnes, Nordland at 1920:

I tried going trough the archives for Hemnes for people who past away between 1919 and 1940 without any luck and he probably didn’t become older than 105 years.

Where can I find information about when he died and where he lived at that point in time if it’s not Hemnes?

Hi Vigdis,

That’s a link to your local machine but I assume it was meant as a link to the Hemnes Bygdebok website so thanks a lot anyway for trying to help me. Much appreciated! The only missing piece of information now is when he passed away which seems impossible to find.

Sorry. I guess it is from Hemnes bygdebok, but a few word is different (I think).

Hope this link works; still page 5:

I think his death will be noted in the church book from Korgen. This book is not on-line after 1920.

The 1920 census was held 1. dec 1920 and he probably died before 1924 because I did not find him in the probate register which starts 1924.
