I don't expect anyone to translate it. Is Torkild claiming compensation for damages done to his farm during an attack by Sweden? If not, what is the jest of it.

So far – relatively good, concerning interpretation of the arcaic Norwegian/Danish script.

 

Translating, making a summary of the same in a foreign langauge is indeed more ‹tricky› – to say the least.

But I will give it a try, hoping the more skilled participants here can contribute.

 

Kind of a summary:

Gudmund fought the Enemy, in doing so he lost livestock, stored food, seed, clothes, etc. value 124 Rdr 3ort

In cash 36rdr [not sure why the difference]

He also lost 20rd 20ort which was him entrusted by the soldier Kalf(?) Ericksen. The money was his (Ericksens) paternal inheritance. Mr. E. has now returned from Pomerania(?) and claims his money. Gudmund says they were among his belongings shipped to Halden(?) (to a Borckert Samuelsen there) and was lost in the great fire. [Probably the fire of 1716 – Halden.] His (Gudmunds?) total loss is 180rd 3ort 20s.

On second thought – the 36rd are most likely ‹cash-cash› in addition to the valuation of his belongings.

This information is priceless to a family historian. It may not be as big a deal in Norway due to the many documents going back centuries. That is not the case in all countries. Many people are lucky to get back to their great-great-grandparents, and that only involves vital records. Without the online presence of the Digital Archives many people would not know that these documents exist.
