Trying to find my Ruud and Fjeld connection from Hole, Buskerud.

My 2nd great grandfather was Jorgan Gulbrandsen Fjeld, 1793-1858, his son Tarald Jorgensen Rytterager, 1814-1873, and wife Karen Nilsdatter, 1811-1876 from Hole, Buskerud. Their daughter Ragne Taraldsdatter Fjeld, 1857-1914, also from Hole (my grandmother).  A Ruud cousin of mine has family member Anne Andersdatter, 1825 from Hole. Her husband Ole Nilson Nilsen Busterud, 1802-1887, from Norderhov, Buskerud.  Ole's sister was Berthe Olesdatter, 1806-1856 from Ringerike.  Hope you can find my Fjeld/Ruud connection.

I am not sure from your post who you are looking to connect. But a fairly good start is to post some sources. Here is the marriage of Jørgen Gulbrandsen Bierche and Ragne Tarladsdatter Sønsterud in 1802 in Hole, Buskerud.

In the 1801 Census for Hole, Buskerud there is a Ragne Taraldsdatter born about 1780 who is likely the wife of Jørgen Gulbrandsen and mother of your Tarald. She is living with her family on the  Sønsterud farm at the time.  Her parents are Tarald Johansen and Anne Jacobsdatter.

Ragne was baptized on 10 Oct 1779. Her father is listed as Thral Sønsterud. The record is on the left hand page, third one after 17 P Trin.

I confess I am having some difficulty finding a Jørgen Gulbrandsen living in Hole, Buskerud who was born in 1793, Where did you get this birth year from. The only Jørgen Gulbrandsen that I can find in the 1801 Census that might fit your man is a Jørgen Gulbrandsen working on the Næs farm but he was born in 1778. He is single so no parents are listed.

Now a person who may be the same man as Jørgen is a Jacob baptized 5 Nov 1780.. The reason I mention him is that his father is Gulbrand Bierche. His baptism record is Nr 1 bottom of the left hand page.

If this is the other family you are trying to link to, it would seem that there is a problem here with the names. It is unlikely that the sister of Ole Nilsen would have the last name of Olesdatter unless they are half siblings with different fathers. Anyway we can work on the sources for this side of the family and see what we find.

Back over to the Field side of the family. The wife of Tarald Jørgensen Rytterager was Karen Nilsdatter Quersjorde born about 1811. 

 

According to this marriage record her father is Niels Guttormsen.
