For ordens skyld - her er dåpen - venstre side, nest nederst:

Buskerud fylke, Flå, Nes, Gol, Hemsedal i Nes, Ministerialbok nr. 2 (1707-1759), Fødte og døpte 1746, Konfirmerte 1746, Offentlige skriftemål (publice absolverede) 1746, Side 159

Finner moren nevnt under offentlige skriftemål - da står det soldat Torstein Rasmussen:

Buskerud fylke, Flå, Nes, Gol, Hemsedal i Nes, Ministerialbok nr. 2 (1707-1759), Konfirmerte 1747, Offentlige skriftemål (publice absolverede) 1747, Side 163

This is probably the same Torstein Rasmussen since he is called "sold." abbreviation of soldat:

Giertru is still living in 1801, here with her son Rasmus Torstenson:

Another possible half-brother to Halvor:

Eg fann Rasmus Torsteinsson i Nes BB III på side 107 og 108. Han hadde husmannsplassen Rensla som låg under Arnegard (eller Espeset i 1801). Der står det at Rasmus var frå ein plass under garden Eidal.

Kan nokon sjekka om det er informasjon om "min" Torstein Rasmusson "Eidal" i rette bygdeboka frå Nes i Hallingdal?

It appears not to either of them.

In Nes III page 586, Torstein's parents are identified as Astri Olsdatter from Havasgard b 1699 d 1765 and a soldier  Rasmus Jensen Storeli.

In Nes 1 page 417 on øvre Storeli there is a Rasmus Jensen b. 1701 d 1751 son of Jens Rasmussen thought to be from Bakke under Børtnes b abt 1672, skifte 1743 and Ragnhild Torsteinsdatter from Nigarden under Nordre-Li b. abt 1674.  Rasmus is not mentioned here as a soldier and Torstein Rasmussen is not mentioned as a child before marriage of this Rasmus Jensen.  Rasmus Jensen married Ambjørg Mortensdatter from Smedsmyre and had several children with her.

Nes V page 416 Skollerud:

Torstein Rasmussen b 1723 from Astri-Olaplassen under Havasgard, thought to have died 1767 in Sigdal.  m 1751 to Gjertru Gautesdatter from søre Skirvemoen b 1724 thought to have died 1810.  They had the two sons linked to earlier and another 5 children.  Halvor Torsteinsen is mentioned as a child before marriage for Torstein and Guri Gautesdatter.

Torstein was confirmed in 1746 and was called soldier

Torstein enlisted in 1745, was a husmansson, called Syversrud, was born on Havasgard was on a military list in 1748.  He was called soldier in 1751, 1752.
