In my search for information about my great great grandfather, Ole Hansen, born in 1787, his marriage record indicates he was from Jahrsholte Farm. It was to this place he took his bride, and where they had their 6 children. It was in Akerhus, Aurskog Parish. I found a good bit of information about a farm called Jar, aka Jahr, but without a working knowledge of Norwegian, can not determine if this is the correct place. Could someone help me with the translation problem? (The family believes that Jahr is a river, and the farm could also be Holt). One of Ole's sons, Krestian lived at this farm in 1900.

Jar/Jahr/Jader is farm number 49 in Aurskog, and the word Jar means "edge". Jahrsholte could be a part of this farm. Holt often means "wood", so I suppose Jahrsholte refers to a home, a farm or a cottage in the forest.
