Henrich Petersen Lexau giftet seg 10. september 1762 i Domkirken i Bergen med Gye Marie Amalia Pritzer. Han oppgis da å være "personel capellan i Legangers prg". I Leganger (Leikanger) får paret to barn: Peter (1762) og Catharine (1763).

Henrich Petersen Lexau and Gye Maria Amalia Pretzier had 8 children: Peter 1762-1784, Catharine 1763-1844, Johan Jacob Pritzier 1764-?, Gye Maria Amalia Pritzier 1765-?, Henrick 1766-?, Gye Maria Amalia Pritzier 1768-1793, Henrich (Smorhavn) 1769-1847, Hedeviig Wilhelmine 1771-1778. The last 6 children can be found in the Kinn Parish Register, all in Bremanger. Henrich was the Priest in Kinn from 20 May 1763 until his death on 6 Apr 1781. He lived in Floro. His widow, Gye Maria Amalia Pretzier moved back to Bergen after his death and died there 17 Mar 1791. We have name and dates for his ancestor back 3 generations.

Hi Craig! Thanks a lot for information on Henrich Petersen Lexau. I was curtain that someone out there knew the solution to the mystery, but I didn`t expect it to come from such a distant place as California. The internet is curtainly making the world smaller. I`m a decendant of Henrich P. Lexau through Henric (Smørhavn) Lexaus daughter Judithe Maria Amalie Lexau, born 1794. She died in 1847, having spent her last eight years as a patient at the St Jørgen (lepracy) hospital in Bergen. Anyway, I became a little curious on what you have on Henrichs ancestors. In my records I have the following: Henrich Petersen Lexau was son of Peter Lexau (1706-1781) and Chatrine Møller (1706-1768). Peters father was Henric Lexau who immigrated to Bergen from Rostock, Germany, lived in Bergen and died in 1737. He married Mette Bødiker ( -1748). This Mette is not the one baptised in Korskirken in Bergen in 1687, but probably born about 1678 and of German decent. Chatrine Møller was daughter of Willum Møller and Berethe Jørgensdatter. Do you (or anyone else) have anything more (or different)? Erik

Erik, I am glad to get to know a relative. I am a 5th great grandson of Henrich Pettersen Lexau. My great great grandfather, Michael Sundt Tuxen Lexau, came to the USA about 1865; he was the nephew (son of Henrick Lexau – Judithe’s brother) of your ancestor Judithe Maria Amalie Lexau (Chr. 2 Jan 1795, Bremanger, Kinn Parish, Sogn og Fjordane, Norway). The information you gave above for the ancestors of Henrich Pettersen Lexau is identical to that which I have found with the following additions: Henric Lexau was born in 1668 probably in Lexow, Rostock, Germany, he was the son of Joachim Lexow (born about 1645 probably in Lexow, Rostock, Germany). Another area of mutual interest is the Brügger line. Johanna Sophie Brygger (1759-1845) the wife of Henrich Lexau (1769-1847) has interesting ancestors including her father Major Hans Andreas Brügger (1730-1793) and her grandfather Andreas Brügger (1694-1753) who murdered his superior officer Premier Lieutenant George Blumberg on 3 July 1732 in a bar room sword fight. Have you studied this line? I can be contacted by email at: dsupermann@aol.com
