The two (illegitimate children) are listed together with their mother and immediate ancestors in the bygdebok Halsaboka, vol. 1, p. 423 (and previous page). Copies may be ordered through your library, or you may contact the county library in Ålesund or the local library (bibliotek@halsa.kommune.no).However, the boys' father is not the person listed in Halsaboka. According to church records both John (bapt. Halsa 1874 no. 33) and Bernhard (bapt. Halsa 1880 no. 10) are children of Erik Knudsen Husby (in the later case Vingsternes) of Aure, born in Meldalen, bachelor, born 1833 [not correct]. For information on this man and his escapades, read the article in the annual "Du mitt Nordmøre", 1991-volume, p. 89-97.And by the way, the father of their half sister, incompletely listed in Halsaboka, is (bapt. Halsa 1871 no 12) Oluf Halvorsen Huusby of Aure.
