Andreas Svendsen married Eli Engebretsdatter and is mentioned in Nord-Odal Bygdebok Vol. V page 203. It says he is from Gjerdrum i Hof born 1814. When I look at the Gjerdrum Bygdebok Vol. II page 200 I find a Svend Christophersen who was married 3 times but it only mentions the second and third wives. It mentioned that Svend was from Værhaug i Skedsmo. I looked in Skedsmo Vol. II page 567 under Wærhaug farm, Svends parents are Christopher Svendsen and Kari Jacobsdatter but it still does not mention the wives for Svend. Svend seems to be a popular name in this area and I am not sure it Andreas Svendsen is son to Svend Christophersen, does any one know who Andreas Svendson parents are????

Hi! Did this people emigrate? I have lots of sources form Gjerdrum, but, it is sort of confusing when you mention Hof...Gjerdrum Bygdebok dont cover Hof. Gjerdrum is a community, as is Hof. Gjerdrum is in Akershus, Hof is in Hedmark (different fylke "counties". You have Gjerdrum farms in (Hof) Våler in Hedmark, and Gjerdrum farms in Gjerdrum in Akershus. In the 1801-census for Hedmark under Hoff, Waaler you find two farms named Gierdrum. None of them hava a man called Svend in 1801.On what farm did you find Andreas Svendsen in Nord Odal?I think you are on the wrong track in Gjerdrum Bygdebok, it covers Gjerdrum in Akershus. Laila

I found Andreas Svendsen in Nord-Odal Vol. IV, page 316 on Storbekken. In Vol. V, page 203, I believe Bergestad. I ordered the church films for Hof, Hedmark and found a birth for Oct. 19, 1814 Andreas Svensen but the parents are not listed or a farm. Actually it looks like his entry was added later. He is listed in the church for Nord-Odal, Hedmark as entering in 1835 from ? Hoff. But under his name is Gjerdrum. So I think you are right I have been looking in the wrong place. Is there a Bygdebokk for Hof? Thank you for helping me out. Sharol
