Not bad, to find such up-to-date info here! But here is an update which just came in on another list:'.... the IL Death Index by name is now online & searchable at the IL State Archives/IL Sec of State's site -HOWEVER, they took down the server on Saturday, and may well be disabling the 'email your request for printed copy'.I was at the Archives on Saturday (yesterday) - and already knew they were shorthanded, and are over 6 months behind on many written requests for Archive results.Over the three (3!) days the Death Index was online (from Wed through Friday last week), they received 486 email requests for death certificates - it's going to be at least 6 months before any requestors receive their certificates!'
