[#9485] Military Activities, Tjølling Vestfold 1700.

During the period 1723 to 1814, a number of sisters and female cousins of my ancestors in Tjølling married soldiers from different Companies, and in particular, but not exclusively, Captain later Major, Kleijn's Company. Most of the soldiers appear to have been born in Tjølling, but some came from neighbouring sogn (Hedrum and Sandeherrad) and only on one occasion from further afield in Vestfold.Does any reader know of any sites on the web that can be consulted for further information on these military activities and the different companies/regiments involved? Was the military presence in Tjølling an aftermath to the Great Nordic War and a build up to the Napoleonic Wars? Mvh Vidar
