I would like to find out the name of a person who was murdered by her husband '(Husfadern er i Arrest og hans Kone er død (dræbt af Manden)'): Census 1865, Fosnæs, Halmøe, Fosvik, Merknad 114, Overskrift 2.Lars Fosvig was born 28/11 1821. He had many children (Iver Andreas 09/02 1845, Ole Lars. 13/05 1847, Anna K. 1852, Jette c. 1851, Anne Oline 1857, Lorense Magrette 1854, Kristian 1860) born at Fosvik farm, Fosnæs.Lars emigrated 1891 from Trondheim to Brookings County, South Dakota, USA, where he died in 1895. Son Iver emigrated in 1867, Lorentse and Jette emigrated 1875, and son Ole Lars. Fosvig in 1871 (from residence Rødø).1) Who was the mother of these children of Lars? Was it the same person who Lars murdered?(In some of my family history notes there is a brief reference to a 'Rognald S. Foswick', or a 'Rachel' Foswick, but I don't know anything more about them.)2) From the 1865 census at Digitalarkivet, as above, there is a Beret Karlsd., born 1777 at Sparbods Prestegjeld. Could this be the mother of Lars, or maybe the mother of his murdered wife?Thank youWade

Lars Andreassen Fossvik, born 8.11.1821, Byneset (just outside Trondheim in Trøndelag), married 25.9.1842 with Rakel Johnsdatter Jøssundmo, born 1816 in Bindalen, died 9.6.1864 in Flatanger (Killed by Lars on the sea, her parents: John Horsfjord, from Bindal and Karen Kristoffersdatter Jøssundmo, Flatanger). Their children: 1.John Gabriel Larsen Fossvik, 5.9.1842 2.Iver Andreas Larsen Fossvik, 9.2.1845, to USA in 1867 and 1875. 3.Ole Larsen Fossvik, 13.5.1847, To USA in 1871. 4.Karl Magnus Larsen Fossvik, 7.1.1850, To USA in 1872. 5.Anna Kristine Larsdatter Fossvik, 19.2.1850 6.Lorentse Margrete Larsdatter Fossvik, 19.7.1854, to USA in 1875. 7.Anne Oline Larsdatter Fossvik, 5.4.1857 8.Kristian Leonard Larsen Fossvik, 8.4.1860While he was married Lars got a child with a servant girl on the Fossvik farm: he got in love with Pauline Olsdatter Hårnes (Bjørkneset), Flatanger. Their child was: Jette Olise Larsdatter, born 8.5.1862 in Fossvika, Flatanger. Jette went to USA in 1883. Such a sad story, though.But to complete the story a bit, Lars died 13 Jan 1895, Iver Andreas (who was a leper) in 1878, and Ole 26 Sep 1920; all were buried at the same cemetery in Brookings County, South Dakota.Many thanks again,Wade
