Ved søk i indeksen til U.S. Census 1910 hos Genealogy.com finner jeg personen Erick Halden.

Thank you very much, Kathy. This is the right family. I knew they lived in Viking in 1920, but I didn´t know if they were still living there in 1930. Erik and Gunhild had these 5 children: 1. Sigurd Halvard (Sigurd in 1920), born 1902 in Norway, 2. Gudbrand (Gilbert in 1920), born 1904 in Norway, 3. Thelma, 12 years in 1920, born in South Dakota, 4. Bordhild (Borghild?), 9 years in 1920, born in South Dakota and 5. Ella, 7 years in 1920, born in Minnesota. I have also found Erik, Gunhild, Sigurd and Gilbert in the Minnesota Death Certificates Index. According to the 1920 Census these four family members were naturalized in 1916.I tried to search the U.S.Census Records (Ancestry.com) for Sigurd, Thelma and Bordhild/Borghild. When I searched for Sigurd Halden (soundex) I got 2 hits in 1930 (1 in Minnesota). When I searched for Borghild Halden (soundex) I got 1 hit in 1930, but not in Minnesota. And when I searched for Thelma Halden (soundex) I got a lot of hits in 1930 (5 in Minnesota). As you understand I have no access to the census images. But if you could try to help me with finding these children of Erik and Gunhild I would be very grateful.

In the 1920 census, Sigurd Holden is a farm laborer in North Dakota. He works for Hans E (or C) Oberg, born in Norway, wife Martha born in Wisconsin, 2 small daughters. 1930 census, North Dakota, Adams County, Jordan Township, ED 18. page 1A.The Social Security Death Index indicates that both Sigurd and Gilbert were retired railroad workers. And railroads have archives about their workers. But the easiest thing is to use the links from Rootsweb. I looked at the rootsweb.com site for Pennington county and found lots of useful information. These two sites will help you. The GenWeb site for the county is [url="http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnpennin/mnpennin.htm>http://www.rootsweb.com/~mnpennin/mnpennin.htm The site that lists the obits you can request and how to request them is
